“Such words lift my spirits into the sky, my Queen. So long as you wish, I will fight on you just as I did in our youth.”

Someone said thighs so now he feels obligated to show his own off.

Hearing Lancelot move, Ritsuka kept her head down, buried beneath her arms. She didn’t want to look at him or even acknowledge his quirky attempts to get her out of her shell. He’d already broken one, and she didn’t want to recognize the other. 

She only gave a grunt, just to show she was paying attention when he’d mentioned Gawain, even if she knew she never was going to bother asking him about this sort of stuff. 

“If you’re going to stay here that long, then you’ll never leave.” She huffed — or would have if it wasn’t muffled. “Why should I be happy with all of that stuff like everyone else? Why should I keep smiling when I don’t feel like it?”

    “So you have been hiding your sorrow that well then, Master? You forced yourself smile when you wished to weap? Obscured your burden heart and troubled eyes with a facade of cuteness or indifference? Masking all your pains and anguish with your courage and determination?” He let out a tired sigh. 

No wonder he found her so easy to devote his sword toward, she had a noble and self-sacrificing heart like Guinevere and Artoria. He admired her strength of will and enduring spirit, but now feared for her well-being all the more. He failed Artoria and lost Guinevere, he didn’t want to see another admirable woman fall to ruin before his eyes.  So he placed his hands on her shoulders to comfort her and he looked down at her hidden eyes.

“Arranged marriages are pretty rare unless you’re a magus, I think.” She wouldn’t doubt it if they still did that sort of thing with their elitist blood purity like some Slytherin pure blood, Hogwarts shit. “Besides, did marriage lead to your happiness?” Ritsuka not even going to comment on the quest thing; she wasn’t interested in getting his help in that. She buried her face in her arms.

He honestly never planned to be married, since his heart burned for those who could not have. To ask him of such a thing, stung, yet he refused to dwell on the desires he held in past. She clearly needed him in this present moment. 

   “I devoted my life to Camelot, so I sacrificed marriage and children to avoid having my focus divided. Sir Gawain had a lovely marriage, so I advise seeking him for advice on such matters.” His tone was low yet firm with her. He knelt down to meet her at eye level, feeling heavy over seeing his vibrant master in this state.
