There were no artillery salutes here. The two delegations arrived in an atmosphere of deliberate intimacy and quiet reflection. Only the Cloche de l'Horizon, its solitary chime carrying across the sea, marked the opening of the ceremony.
According to Thornolian tradition, the bell symbolically calls home all those whom the sea has never returned.
For Ernest, heir to the Thornolian throne, it marked his first participation in a national memorial ceremony of such significance since assuming his public duties. As for Eleanor, the ceremony offered a rare opportunity to see her fully embody her constitutional role as Madame Royale, beyond her position as the King's daughter.
The ceremony then continued into the newest section of the Garden of the Tides, where a Thornolian Emerald Cedar was planted.
Chosen for its remarkable resilience against coastal winds and its exceptional longevity, the tree represents endurance, loyalty and remembrance within Thornolian tradition. Even the planting ceremony itself followed a carefully considered protocol.
Through this carefully choreographed sequence, the organisers sought to represent the reigning sovereign, the visiting nation, dynastic continuity, and the generation one day destined to inherit the Crown.
A bronze plaque unveiled beside the young cedar now explains the significance of its presence:
Unlike the commemorative trees traditionally planted in diplomatic gardens, this cedar does not stand as an isolated monument. Instead, it becomes part of the Kingdom's living memorial forest, destined to grow for generations as a lasting tribute maintained by those who follow.
Beyond its ceremonial character, the occasion served as a reminder that the relationship between Thornolia and Francesim is founded not only upon diplomacy, but also upon the sharing of memory, sacrifice and common heritage.
Bring a little more realism to your Sim's kitchen with Functional Aprons! This mod lets your Sims put on cute aprons from the base game apron wall object, making cooking, baking, and storytelling feel more real.
Sims can choose from different apron styles for women, men, and children, then take them off whenever theyβre done. They can also add messes to themselves for more storytelling!
β¨Kitchen Mess Add-Onβ¨
If your sims do not wear an apron they can end up with visible mess effects like flour, and oil splatter. These effects are great for storytelling, screenshots, family gameplay, bakeries, restaurants, workshops, messy kids, and everyday chaos.
β¨Paint Stainsβ¨
There's also a paint stains for storytelling & pictures mainly. I always find myself wanting to go into CAS to add it for my stories but never really being bothered to do it because The Loading.. is annoying. Now just click the apron and add paint! Yippie!
His relative position in the family doesn't really change in this scenario. He's still a spare, albeit slightly higher in the line of succession. Being the baby of the family insulates him from being overlooked in the way Freddy often was, so I think he grows into essentially the same person as in canon. I think he would be more directly competitive with Freddy, and they'd have a more-contentious relationship than in canon.
Your characters are allowed to be bad people. Your story is allowed to have no moral lesson.yyour ending is allowed to be sad. The villain can win. The good person can do something unforgivable. The lovers can destroy each other. You are allowed to write the thing that no one asked for and everything that everyone told you doesnβt work and you are allowed to not explain yourself.

I mentioned & featured a whole lot of people who deserve their flowers for making my characters world feel more whole: @armoricaroyalty @officalroyalsofpierreland @trhor @empiredesimparte
last.
This was planned to go up a really long time ago, but I got insecure about the way it all turned out... but that's no way to live!
also yes. the big lights are supposed to be in frame. It was a stylistic choice that I was making prior to me being silly with my reshade & then updating it for something that I'm now working on. I may bring it back in full force, who knows.
Just imagine: in this AU, all the royal watcher girlies are posting about how much they wish they had an alt hard femme lesbian heir instead of Crown Prince Bill Clinton π
i've got to ask now, how would rosalind and freddy be different if freddy was the heir?
They're both more confident, but in different ways. The largest change wouldn't be in their base personalities, it would have been in how the family at large (and Elise in particular) treated them.
In canon, much of Freddy's character is driven by his position in the family. He is both the middle child and the spare, often overlooked in favor of Rosalind or Jacques. As an adult, he's insecure and desperate for affirmation and approval, but Freddy-raised-as-heir would have been the nucleus of the nuclear family and the center of attention. Elise in particular would have been an entirely different mother. She would have prioritized his needs and wellbeing and shafted Rosalind's. As a result, their personalities would have developed in entirely different directions.
Crown Prince Freddy would have been a lot more self-assured and suave. Both versions of his character are charismatic ladies' men, but the canon character is a serial monogamist, while the AU would be more love-em-and-leave-em: lots of flings with lots of women, but no serious relationships in his teens or twenties. He would not feel the same pressure to marry (or maybe he would have the self-confidence to resist that pressure). He gives his heart freely to all women, he just doesn't think any of them are "relationship material."
In the AU, the brunt of Elise's emotional neglect would shift from Roz to Freddy, which would make her cynical and skeptical. She'd have Olivia's attitude and she'd be much queerer. Canon Rosalind is like a bonsai tree: strange and stunted, a product of her environment. A lot of her peculiarities in the canon setting are a result of having to exist as a lesbian within the beating mechanical heart of the patriarchal lich that is modern monarchy. She's abrasive and overconfident, but she's also incredibly constrained in order to make herself palatable to the Powers That Be.
A Rosalind who existed without those pressures would have grown in all kinds of weird and wonderful directions.
17. Have there been any civil wars or succession crises in your countryβs history?
Yes, and relatively recently.
When the Armorican Constitution was drafted in 1841, it established the nation as a new constitutional monarchy lead by the St. Fleur family, the hereditary Dukes of Arbor. The first king of Armorica had four sons and numerous grandsons, which lead to a critical oversight: the constitution allowed a sovereign to be succeeded by his daughters in the event that he had "no living male heirs," but it did not provide a definition for the term.
If a king had a living younger brother but no sons, did the throne pass to his eldest daughter or to his younger brother? If his daughter had a son, could he be made heir? Should a female-line grandson come before or after his mother in the line of succession?
For 130 years, these "questions of succession" had no definitive answer.
In 1976, plans were underway for Everard III's ruby jubliee, set to occur the following year. In a politically tempestuous decade, the eighth King of the Armoricans was positively regarded as an uncompromising hard man, respected for his steadfast leadership in times of great crisis. His lengthy reign had one major shortcoming: the king had no clear successor.
The king was 63 years old, and his wife was 58. 41 years of marriage had produced only one child, a girl. Princess Therese would have been an ideal candidate if not for her sex: she was well-educated, well-married, and had an heir and a spare of her own. However, a vocal minority (and nearly 65% of the High House of Parliament) supported Everard's younger brother, Henri, the Duke of Clark as heir.
Everard, famous for his feuds, had not been on speaking terms with his brother for over a decade. He favored his daughter's claim over his estranged brother's, and in 1976, he directed the hereditary High and elected Low House of Parliament to draft legislation to jointly draft a new law to amend the Constitution and settle the issue once and for all.
The Inheritance Act of 1976 established absolute primogeniture in Armorica: under the new law, the sovereign's eldest child would inherit without regard for gender. With the stroke of a pen, Therese became Crown Princess and Andre and Olivia were confirmed as second and third in line to the throne.
The egalitarian law infuriated the King, who had wanted parliament to pass male-preference primogeniture, favoring a sovereign's sons over his daughters, but his daughters over his younger brothers. Under his preferred inheritance law, Rosalind would be third in line, and Freddy would be Crown Prince!

This month marks five years of this account on Instagram and Tumblr. I want to thank all the people I have befriended, met and had the opportunity to collaberate with. I am extremely grateful to you all. While I am super busy with university (law degrees are not for the weak), I hope to return to this account and hope you will join me for the ride and (hopefully) many more years together.
