Okay, before everyone attacks me in the comments...
I'm genuinely asking.
Because every time this woman appears in public she looks deeply offended by the existence of other people.
The Emperor arrives smiling.
Ernest looks thrilled to be there.
The crowd is excited.
And Eleanor looks like somebody just informed her happiness has been outlawed.
Before anyone says it, yes, I know she completed her duties.
That's not the point.
I genuinely don't understand why the Palace keeps putting her in situations where she appears so uncomfortable.
If your entire job is public representation, surely appearing pleased to represent the public should be part of that.
Am I being unfair?
alexthomas94: Camille is right though. Ernest looked genuinely happy to be there. Eleanor looked like she was counting the seconds until she could leave.
sophieelise: She looks like someone just told her the State Visit was being extended by another week.
historyandtea: Imagine getting paid to be a princess and still looking this miserable.
The Emperor arrived by sea aboard the Aigle, the Imperial yacht of the House of Simparte, entering the harbour of Port Olivier shortly before eleven oâclock under clear autumn skies and heightened security presence along the waterfront. Large crowds had gathered since the early morning hours to witness the ceremonial arrival, marking the first State Visit by a reigning French Emperor to Thornolia in more than two decades.
The arrival marked the Monseigneurâs first official appearance as a senior working member of the Royal Family following his eighteenth birthday earlier this year. Observers noted the visible cheerfulness with which the Monseigneur approached the ceremony, accompanying his elder sister throughout the harbour proceedings and military honours inspection.
The Madame Royale, dressed in deep green and ivory, maintained the reserved composure for which she has become increasingly known in recent years. Though characteristically restrained throughout much of the reception, the Madame was seen quietly guiding her younger brother through portions of the ceremonial protocol as the siblings greeted the French delegation at the foot of the harbour staircase.
His Imperial Majesty appeared notably at ease during the public reception, greeting assembled officials and naval officers before joining members of both delegations for the formal harbour inspection overlooking Port Olivier â itself named in honour of Monsieur le Roi Olivier I, widely regarded by historians as the first true sovereign of modern Thornolia.
Unlike many European honours systems, LâOrdre de la Salamandre is bestowed personally at the discretion of the reigning Thornolian monarch, regardless of rank or status, and is traditionally reserved for individuals judged to have demonstrated exceptional loyalty and service to the Kingdom of Thornolia and the Crown.
The evening will conclude with a State Banquet attended by senior members of the Thornolian Royal Family, representatives of the French Imperial Court, members of government, and invited figures from the diplomatic and cultural spheres of both nations.
The State Visit, scheduled to continue through 23 October, is expected to focus on cultural cooperation, maritime partnerships, and the longstanding historical ties between Thornolia and Francesim.

Do you make your own poses, if not which pose maker do you recommend?
Hello!
I actually make very few of my own poses (the ones I have made are available for download đ).
Most of the time, I work with a very large pose collection in my game (well over 1 GB at this point!) I use poses from many different creators depending on the scene, setting, and emotion I'm trying to convey.
For the upcoming State Visit posts featuring Napoleon V, a large portion of the poses were created by @theroyalthornoliachronicles, who has done an amazing job bringing those scenes to life.
My personal trick isn't so much creating poses as it is editing them afterward. I often modify poses in Photoshop using several different tools to better match the expression, posture, or emotion I want for a particular character. Sometimes a small adjustment can completely change the feeling of a scene!
The Secret Cabinet meets at Versailles ahead of the state visit to Thornolia: Charlemagne, Jean Schulmeister, Imperial Prince Henry, and Napoleon V. The emperor, who had intended to review files on the Thornolian royal family, finds himself being questioned about "his relationship" with Laura. After a difficult exchange for him, the young sovereign formally forbids the Cabinet from interfering in his love life.
Charlemagne: Gentlemen⊠Sire, we must settle the Delcroix affair.
Jean: Before anything else⊠we must understand the exact nature of the situation. Do you intend to pursue your relationship with Miss Delcroix?
Napoleon: Pursue It has not even begun, and you know that perfectly well.
Charlemagne: That is not an answer, Sire.
(Napoleon pauses to think.)
Napoleon: If Miss Delcroix were to return my feelings, then yes, I would wish to âpursueâ it.
(The members of the cabinet exchange glances.)
Henri: You do understand what that would imply, my nephew.
Napoleon: She rejects me anyway.
Charlemagne: We must control what can still be controlled.
Jean: From the information I have gathered⊠Miss Delcroix has no hidden political ambition. She possesses neither fortune nor influence. And she would not even have the sympathy of the people.
Napoleon (irritated): I merely promised her family my protection.
Jean: The Delcroix family has already refused all assistance from the Imperial Household.
Henri: What we wish to suggest, my nephew, may be difficult at first. It would mean distancing Delcroix â through a major promotion, for example. She would gainâ
Napoleon: Absolutely out of the question.
Charlemagne: We all know that you and Delcroix are about to spend six months aboard the same ship during the Jeanne dâArc mission, on the other side of the world. We fearâŠ
Henri: âŠthat it may distance you from the Empress permanently. And if it becomes public â which it most certainly will â people will talk.
Jean: Sire, the Empress suspects nothing for the moment. We should take advantage of that to resolve the situation. These are merely solutions toâ
Napoleon: You call these solutions?! Then why am I the one losing in every one of your scenarios?
Jean: In truth⊠there is most likely no good ending to this story.
Napoleon: God help me.
Henri: Do you no longer have any feelings for the Empress? Why not try instead to rekindle the flame? Perhaps this is only temporaryâ
Napoleon (losing his temper): Because I love Miss Delcroix!
Charlemagne: Sire⊠If you wish to continue seeing Miss Delcroix, then at the very least, rules must be established.
Napoleon: Enough!
Charlemagne: Sire, this is a matter of stabilityâ
Napoleon: You call it stability?!
Jean: Sire⊠she has neither position, nor network, nor any real protection.
Napoleon: Yes, she does. She has me.
(A heavy silence falls.)
Napoleon: There will be no distancing, no discreet arrangement, none of your "solutions." Miss Delcroix and I will depart together on the Jeanne dâArc mission, as planned.

I feel like our Louis-es need to have a talk with David about how bad of an idea it is to not listen to very smart women....
Group therapy for the Louis of Europesim! Unfortunately, listening to smart women does not appear to be a hereditary trait for Pierreland and Francesim!
At this stage, do you think there's anything that could actually dissaude Napoleon from pursuing Laura? He seems so reckless and heedless of what his advisors (and Laura herself!) are trying to tell him!
You described Louis very well! xD For me, he is very much an antihero in the literary sense.
What strikes me personally is that now that Laura has admitted she loves him, he no longer seems to care whether he or Laura might suffer because of all this. As long as they at least try, just once.
If you will, he's convinced he's being guided by Cupid.
I think his imperial upbringing, combined with the example of the ancestors he admires, has taught him to see struggle as something meaningful. In Louis' mind, suffering isn't necessarily evidence that he should stop. Sometimes, it's evidence that something is worth fighting for.
So from that point on... it's hard to say what could dissuade him, because he's already willing to suffer for it - and to let others suffer around him as well.
