Hello, I'm Mary (they/them)! I'm a fannish writer in my late twenties who has been somewhat active on fandom spaces for about a decade.
I have been off Tumblr for quite a few years and returned around September 2025 to interact with members of the Inazuma Eleven fandom.
I'm an advocate for the indie web and consider fandom spaces would benefit from decentralized social media.
Where to find me: Website | AO3 | Mastodon | Dreamwidth | all links
This Blog
I don't really know how to use this site so do forgive me if I do something strange.
With that outta the way, this blog is primarily centered on the Inazuma Eleven series. Second priority is reblogging fandom posts on increasing community engagement such as events (usually writing-related) and PSAs.
All postsβincluding reblogsβare queued! Some may take priority if the post is new/time sensitive/has low reblog-to-like ratio.
Content Policy
This blog is largely SFW. I don't know the state of Tumblr after the 2018 purge so for now all potentially suggestive posts and reblogs will be tagged #suggestive, perhaps. Will get back to you on that one.
No posts of Inazuma Eleven Victory Road spoilers here. Only stuff from the movie and beta, if anything.
Blog owner is committed to the accessibility of their own content in this blog. Note: Over at Fedi, I do not share posts with images without ALT text. Here, I think I may have to compromise. If you want me to share your post, please please add ALT text. Many of my previous reblogs don't have ALT text and I apologize for that. As for trigger warnings, I tend to avoid sharing triggering content, so if that happens and the original post doesn't have the appropriate warnings (something something tags transfer to reblogs), do DM me and I'll add them. Just be nice about it.
I write all of my posts in Markdown and use the corresponding editor here in Tumblr as well. I tend to avoid making image-based posts mostly because writing ALT text stresses me out so. I also tag posts retroactively, if that means anything.
Commenting Policy
Please feel free to comment/reblog with comment on my posts regardless of date. Ask box and DMs are also open. Please don't expect an answer anytime soon, you'll likely get a long reply as thanks for your patience!

I had the time of my life meeting IE fans in this silly place and talking about my favorite series. If you would like to keep in touch, I'm similarly active on Pillowfort and the rest of social media accounts listed in my linkhub.
There is a growing community of Inazuma Eleven fans on Pillowfort. I invite you to join and introduce yourself so that I can add your name to this list. Active participation is not required. Lurking is okay!
If you need an invite link to Pillowfort, here you go! Up to ten uses.
If you have recently made an account for Inazuma posting elsewhere on the internet, please let me know! I wanna check it out!
for the ina11 folks who wants to join us in pillowfort, @arimamary-main made this post about ie fans with pfio accs that you can follow!! it's like a starter pack... there's also the ina11 community linked here:
For everything Inazuma Eleven! Fanworks, discussions, news updates are welcome!
if you want to be more familiar with pfio, there's this tumblr post that can help!!
Hi everyone! So I've been back in the Tumblr IE fandom for a while and I've noticed some users don't have pinned posts and/or links to their other social media.
I feel like the fandom is quite spread out across the internet so I would love to know people's socials outside of Tumblr, in particular Mastodon and Dreamwidth. Hey maybe this post can also be a place for people to find other other people, who knows!
TLDR; If you post anything related to Inazuma Eleven outside of Tumblr and Reddit, drop a link to your account in the comments for people check it out! It's FREE PROMO OPPORTUNITY! Shitposting counts too!

For those unfamiliar, Tumblr is releasing a new update dictating that reblogs in a chain now get their own notes, effectively siloing interactions into fragmented pools.
Something like this new update requires action, no matter how small or insignificant it might feel. The only way to even attempt at fighting back is to make your voice heard
Send in a feedback form:
Tumblr is a place to express yourself, discover yourself, and bond over the stuff you love. It's where your interests connect you with your
Select "Feedback" and add a polite message in the "the more details, the better" box underneath it. You can select any number of grievances, but there are a few good posts floating around that succinctly break down why this new update is bad:
Here is a great breakdown on the many ways this update hurts small creators
Here's another
Do not vent in the feedback form. Do not cuss. Explain what you do not like about this update, what your personal course of action following the update might be, and if you have any, suggestions or alternative ideas.
Here is what I submitted, feel free to copy-paste:
"The new "reblogs in a chain now get their own notes" update actively goes against the core principles of Tumblr, and the way community interactions have been carried out and encouraged thus far. It is detrimental to small creators, as their engagement now gets refunneled to larger creators, rewarding those with an already large following and actively discouraging new creators from joining the site without resorting to "spam"-induced or inflammatory tactics to drive engagement, which are largely considered distasteful and uninviting. It removes the concept of chronological and collaborative conversations that make Tumblr stand out from contemporary social media platforms, which made it sought out by people who actively did not want to join other platforms, ensuring user retention. The absence of an algorithm removed the time-based pressure of a posts' success that plagues other sites, whereas now original creators are entirely removed from their own post's interactions, creating a new and possibly even more hostile system that actively discourages original posts. The community's preference based on comments released so far is for the feature to be reverted entirely. If this is not possible, then at least the original creator should still be able to receive notifications of any engagement their post receives, even if said engagement originates from a reblog (who would have their own engagement stream)."
Is it perfect? No. And there is so much more to say.
But here's another important thing: you will not get a substantial reply to your feedback. At most, you get a stock reply. But that's not the point. The point is numbers. The point is for as many people as possible to submit forms, to FORCE them to LISTEN because they cannot IGNORE EVERYONE. Comments on the original post alone won't do. Perhaps the feedback form won't either.
I first got wind of the Tumblr changes on Mastodon. People were also really concerned about it on Bluesky. You know it's bad when news of an update is all over other social media sites. I'm not that well versed in how Tumblr fully works, as I came here well after being used to other places like LiveJournal, Facebook, and Twitter (before I left all those services). So it took me a minute to educate myself on why the changes to how reblogs work is bad.
Now that I understand they would work more quotes on other sites like Mastodon, Bluesky, or formerly Twitter, that's kind of shitty. I like the fact that reblog text posts were one big chain. It made for some really cool conversations. Not only would the changes get rid of that, but as people point out on here and other socials, they can take engagement from smaller blogs, and act as a vector for harassment.
Other changes over the years were bad enough. We had changes to the dashboard that make this place look more like Twitter, the AI training data inclusion being set to "opt out" instead of "opt in", and before a ban on NSFW posts. It looks like this update could push a lot of remaining people off this platform either out frustration, fearing for their safety, or both.
It's a good idea to make some noise and hope that Tumblr understands that shotgunning themselves in both feet is not the way.
@pitchblackespresso has a really good post, a call to action, and a script to send into Tumblr feedback if you're not good at this sort of thing.

Keep sending those forms in, spreading the word, and making some noise. I do think this update is an existential threat to Tumblr, and what makes it unique from other social media.
Perhaps my genuine biggest piece of socializing advice as someone who spent years of my life feeling wholly incapable of positively interacting with other people is to just ask the other person questions about themselves. Like thatβs it. People love answering questions. They really love thoughtful follow-up questions. They love feeling like someone else is interested in them, their interests, their lives, their opinions. At some point in your questioning they will say something that reminds you of a funny / interesting story. Tell it. You will be remembered as the person who asks a lot of questions, makes people feel like they matter, and tells good stories. boom. done.

If you're sick of tumblr yelling at you to not post NSFW when all you did was post some sand, come to Pillowfort where their payment processor explicitly allows explicit content.
If you're sick of Apple pulling some bullshit with their app store, come to Pillowfort where there is no app store playing dictator, but you can still get a Progressive Web App for your phone anyway. Or use it in your web browser! It actually works!
If you're feeling betrayed now that tumblr did this dumbfuck update that cuts off reblogs from the original post, stifling conversation, isolating its users from each other, and ruining the point of the website in the first place, come to Pillowfort where they don't do shit like that. Come make comments. Have a real conversation.

and if i said that tumblr thought they could get away with that update bc they know the majority of this website ignores the reblog option entirely compared to years ago, so they figured they could just BREAK the very foundation of how this website was built to operate and people would just shrug and be fine with that. please let this be a wake up call. our strong reaction to that change should start to reflect significantly in that ACTUAL reblog count under those notes we just fought for to stay untouched. fandoms and communities cannot thrive on likes alone. as much as tumblr has tried to turn this place into tiktok and twitter, it's not. posts need to circulate. art needs to be seen and shared. tumblr is not tumblr if this is not happening consistently because reblogs are the heartbeat of this website. please don't ever take it for granted. never give tumblr a reason to take away the thing that links us together and amplifies creativity. make reblogging a priority, PLEASE.
If you're on the IE fandom, I would love to see you there! I have a tag with lots of advice for new folks and ALL of my IE posts have been mirrored there. I spend a lot of my time over there and love to comments on folk's posts.

you may be thinking that some of the reactions to the tumblr update are unfounded or panicky. but i meant what i said: this will fucking destroy any artist on this site.
for your reference, i tracked down one of my original posts; which had a notes section that looked like this:
and here is what it looks like now:
holy shit. by my math, that is not even two percent of the amount of aggregate notes my writing actually has. i am not able to see any of the literal hundreds of replies, comments, or tags.
maybe this is a bit presumptuous but i consider myself to be fairly popular on this site. i still remember the first time a large blog "picked up" my work - how quickly all of a sudden i was getting seen. notes on my poetry jumped from like 10 to 300 to 3k. overnight. that was the magic of tumblr, and the incredible writing community i found here.
but now if i answer any of my fellow writers, if i say please go check this out or even if i add additional context to my own work - the artist is removed completely from their own content.
do you want to reply to an "ask game"? do you want to reply to a story prompt? do you want to just make a funny joke with your friends? well, that sucks - you might be depriving them of literally 98% of their notes.
it isn't about clout chasing. it is about giving creators control over their own materials. even a silly post deserves to be connected directly with the person that thought it up.
the tumblr feedback form is currently crashed for me, but when it's up, everyone please go (politely! calmly! like you're walking in a burning building!) tell them what you think. in the meantime: @staff @changes like... i am begging you. literally just set up a suggestion box for ideas on how to monetize tumblr, surely one of us can help you.

The implications of otonashi not hating soccer (and still being a fan of it from how much she knows about other teams participating in the FF before joining raimon SC) after believing that her brother abandoned herβ even outwardly telling him that he was despicable in their first meeting after yearsβ is that she sees kidou and soccer independently from each other.
But at the same time, the anime brings in a complexity to her by making sure to show that despite it all she really was hoping that she gets to talk to him at some point still and that he truly hasn't changed and forgotten about her. That deep embarrassing attachment, as kidou stated, really seemed to run in the family (a lot of times in a toxic attachment degree like how easily kidou forgave kageyama and chose to remember the good parts of him when he "died"). And that I think is a very important point to her character as much as it is kidou's.
I didn't see that much acknowledgement of this which is a bummer but I think people don't see at all that haruna also has the same level of "fighting" to see her brother again much like he wanted to see her. Or at least her fight was about not attaching soccer with this brother of hers despite this being HIS WORLD (as systematically constructed by kageyama) and pretending or insisting that she doesn't care about him. A kind of pretend that immediately shatters if you think about how she joined a soccer team that his team directly targeted (that she knows for sure teikoku will go after again or at least face in the regionals) and the only one they lost to.
Like, think about it. What was haruna thinking from the first raimon v teikoku? From the way her brother played soccer against a newly formed team? And at that point where teikoku wasn't even trying to score but only used the ball to hurt the members under his command. I think it cemented to her how much he changed and how right she was at who he became (and that her hope to see the brother that she knows was no longer possible).
She said she joined the team because of raimon's determination and she didn't lie. But i also think, in her heart, she wanted to help raimon take this version of her brother down. A version that she couldn't take seeing with very little hopes that maybe it can bring her brother back.
#really good analysis op :3 #it's a shame that GO doesn't fully utilize her love for soccer in her job. she's never really allowed to councel the team- #because there's always a (male) coach taking centerstage leaving her in the same position as the managers despite her being an adult #either way- tho i see her in a different career i think it's sweet that she went for a job she mentioned at the end of og season 3
I have exactly the same sentiments when it comes to that. Although i love that she's a teacher and is still completely embracing her love of soccer, they didn't really give her much to do since the story aims to service kudou, endou, and kidou's coaching/administrative skills/guidance.
Among the og managers, I've always thought that haruna was given the shortest end of the stick. Despite the depth that they gave her character and so much personality and uniqueness, she was not given a lot of agency and usually shares her arc with other characters.
I do love that they showed her grief and loneliness an entirely different way than they did Kidou overall, however. She loves connecting with people and has a passion for getting and decimating information, and I feel like there's a lot to say about that being connected to feeling left behind by her first family. From a place where everyone she knew was gone and being left in the dark (ghosted by her brother), rises an individual who wants to know everything and wants to know everyone. I think that was really cool. I'm not surprised that she became a well-known character outside of the series when the anime aired.
Personally, I hc that she was a sports journalist freelancer in college and then a hobbyist sports writer while she's a teacher and a counsellor in inago!!

#at the moment if i were to add anything i'd just repeat what u said kshfjfhks i have to rewatch the og show i miss those characters #i find it curious that the line abt "embarrassing attachment" got changed in the eng dub (and polish dub that was my first exposure) #if i'm not mistaken you mean what kidou says when he talks to his adoptive father? i may be misremembering stuff π #if we're talking about the same moment then in the dub the "embarrassing attachment" wording is absent #anyways the only reason why im bringing it up is bc i remember finally watching that moment in sub and doing a double take- #bc of the dialogue difference to the dub
Yes, that scene!! I have the screenshots of that here in this post if you want to see the entire dialogue (just ugh ignore my angry bitey tone in that post, I was really peeved back then). Also, I got the phrase wrong. It's "embarrassing emotional attachment" actually ππ but my point remains.
That's really a shame that they didnt include that amazing line in the dub because I really feel like it's kidou's core character trait. He has an embarrassing emotional attachment to everyone he meets and towards soccer (affectionate). He's sentimental and sensitive and he will never forget or let you go in his heart regardless if you hurt him or not (unless you hurt the people he cares about the most).
Also thank you so much for your words. You are so kind π
