It has come to my attention (time and time again) that a number of people in the fandom believe the Morrigan to be bigger than the Aquila and other such nonsense. This misconception might be based on their firepower or that you can upgrade the Jackdaw and Morrigan? I can only guess. Instead of silently fuming over the fact that not everyone loves ships with such a passion as I do every time I inevitably stumble across these mistakes, I decided to post this simple guide regarding their size. In the name of comparability the pictures used have the same width and are cropped in a way that the ships themself take up most of the space. The measurements given are steps. I made sure to walk along planks to keep a straight line. It’s possible that Connor, Edward and Shay do not cover the same length with one step, but it does look like it’s not too different and therefore comparable. Many of us may have moved on but this post has constantly been on my mind ever since I've made it.

So during this year's vacation I've used my time wisely, meaning I've found an anchored ship and measured it in steps. I've made mine a bit larger to make up for my shorter height and then converted them to the known length of the HMS OTUS (her 90m equal 92 steps of mine).

And that finally leaves us with "proper real life" measurements - which I'll round up to make up for railings I couldn't include in the in-game measuring process.
