Being True
1
Cipher Johnson sits at a table in the back of a bar.
“Recently I've concluded I might be gay, so I decided to go to the bar to try and pick up someone.”
2
Close up on Cipher Johnson's face, frowning.
“There's just one problem.”
3
Cipher Johnson holds his head in his hands.
“I'm just as bad talking to men as I am women.”
4
A hand taps Cipher Johnson's shoulder.
Cipher: “What?”
5
A handsome young fellow sits at the next table. Man: “You're new here, aren't you?”
Cipher: “Yes, I'm new to the gay scene and I can't seem to fit in.”
6
The man in frame, raising his hand, finger pointed in the air.
Man: “See, you're just not being yourself. Being gay isn't about putting on a persona. In fact, it's quite the opposite.”
7
Cipher and the Man silhouetted in the background as we see from the bar, in between two individuals.
Man: “To be gay is to be as completely honest about who you really are.”
Cipher: “I see.”
8
Cipher Johnson's face, smiling slightly.
“Say, would you like to get a drink?”
9
The man's face, extreme close up.
Man: “I'm sorry, you're not my type.”
