Is that ARDEN MOORE? I heard the THIRTY-NINE year old belongs to the KURTLAR as THE FIXER. Iâd stay away from them if I were you. I heard they were MERCILESS, but they can also be METICULOUS, so proceed at your own risk.
tw; death, loss, mentions of murder
Arden Moore was raised by her grandfather, Jack, in LA after her mother gave her up for adoption. Despite his age, he was the most important person in her life, and they were very close until his death shortly after she turned eighteen.
She became utterly aimless in life, using the little she had of her inheritance to party and travel, draining her bank account dry until she was back to square one. She took odd jobs for a while, hoping something would stick, but nothing ever did.
She fell for Ozan Agha, a man who at the time was simply traveling through Los Angeles on a job. She left the country to follow him to Turkey where they quickly got married and settled down. From the beginning, she knew of his ties to the Kurtlar, but it never dissuade her. Arden was too in love, and after some time she considered them family.
About eight years ago, Oz disappeared while on a job. The grief shattered her, but the Kurtlar, took her in. Under their guidance and the mentorship of Oz's former partner, Aslan, she honed her skills and became a force to be reckoned with.
Moved back to the US when the Kurtlar expanded to Los Angeles, now as their Fixer. A very different woman now than she was when she left.
headcanons.
arden is known to act first, think later, which is known to get her into trouble. she's usually relatively logical when it comes to decision making, but her anger often gets the better of her. in terms of violence, she can be utterly brutal.
she hates wearing white, makes the grime of the day (including bloodstains) harder to get out. most of the time you'll find her wearing black or dark neutrals.
she always has a knife hidden on her at all time, easily within reach. usually there are multiple weapons on her person on any given day.
she has a love for old tv shows, music, pretty much anything from her grandfather's generation.
prefers carrying cash, very much doesnât trust banks or credit cards for everything and keeps a roll of bills tucked away just in case.
allergic to vulnerability. she's incredibly closed off when it comes to feelings, and often reacts poorly when pushed too far to acknowledge them.
an incredible cook, keeps a little book handy in her kitchen that's filled with recipes. many from her grandfather, others from some of her favorite dishes she's made over the years. this woman may not be great at sharing her feelings, but you know you're in her good graces once the cutting board comes out.
biography.
There was never âmom and dadâ with Arden Moore; there was only Grandpa. Born as a product of a one-night stand, Ingrid Moore looked at her daughter with disdain and apathy the moment she arrived, and so the choice to put the baby girl up for adoption had been an easy one. However, her father, Jack Moore, wasnât about to allow his only grandchild to go into the system without a chance in this world. He and Ingrid might have been estranged, but he wouldnât allow Arden to grow up without a family to call her own.
Arden grew up acutely aware that her time with her grandfather would be short. While the other kids in town had fathers who were young and spry enough to chase them around the yard, Jack was at least twenty years their senior with back problems and a knack for going to bed before ten p.m. It would have been easy to resent the man for all that he wasnât, but instead, she clung to him for all that he wasâa retired cop with a penchant for doing what was right, who loved deeply and tried his best to give her a good life. Weekends that could have been spent at sleepovers were instead spent playing chess or sitting side by side watching MASH* on the couch. He was her favorite person in the world. It was only a matter of time before she lost him, and Arden wanted to make the most of their time together while she could, even if it was at the expense of being a normal teenager.
It came as no surprise when he passed shortly after she graduated high school, but the impact was devastating, and suddenly, she had to figure out what the hell to do next. After spending her entire life preoccupied with living in the moment, she'd neglected to think about the future -- and thus, she spiraled for a bit, using the little money her grandfather and blowing it on things like partying, travel, any little hobby that caught her eye that would end up not sticking. When that ran out, she started working odd jobs, hoping she could find something to hold on to -- something to become passionate about..
Then she met Ozan Agha.
He wasnât any man sheâd known before. He was sharp, unpredictable, charming in a way that would have made her give up everything had she had that in the first place, and Arden fell for him hard. Hard enough to leave the country all together and follow him to Turkey, where she married him before she had the chance to talk herself out of it. It wasnât the life she had envisioned for herself, but for the first time in years, she had a future and someone to call family.
Ozan never hid what he was from her. He was high up in the Kurtlar, a notorious criminal organization that had its hands in everything from black market dealing to smuggling. She should have been afraid, but she wasnât. Maybe that should have been the first sign of what she was becoming. They lived in bliss for many years with Arden enveloping herself in his world, in language, his life. Finally, she felt whole.
Then, one day, Ozan left on a job and never came back.
The grief nearly drowned her, but it was the Kurtlar pulled her back from the edge. She wasnât just Ozanâs widowâshe was still one of them, still family, so even after the grief gutted her all over again, she stayed. She found herself leaning on his former partner, Aslan Soykan, the man who had stood beside Ozan through thick and thin. He helped to make her stronger, more brutal in combat and cunning in mind. Helped to mold her into someone who could take care of herself, who wouldn't be caught off guard like Oz had been. Someone who could hold her own and take control of her own life before someone else did.
She rose through the ranks over the years, eventually becoming the Fixer for the Kurtlar, going so far as traveling back to Los Angeles with them when they decided to expand. Back to her old stomping ground, her old life where she'd never been more unsure of herself, now broken and pieced back together, sharpened into someone harsher, more bitter. The shell of the woman she used to be, sure -- but the difference now? Arden is utterly unbreakable.
wanted connections
fellow members of the kurtlar, maybe that knew her husband.
drinking buddies. arden isn't a big chatter box but if your character is the type to enjoy a drink in a dimly lit bar and isn't afraid of some silence? chances are she'll like you.
one night stands. they happen a decent amount since she's been back in the states, she's not looking for anything more than casual flings, not willing to get attached.
unlikely friendships
enemies. whether it be through a negotiation or clean up attempt gone bad, or a clash in personalities, arden is a true hater.
more to come!
