{ jon bernthal, cis man, he/him } Is that BRAIDEN BECKETT? I heard the FORTY-FIVE year old belongs to the KURTLAR as an APPRAISER. I’d stay away from them if I were you. I heard they were VERSATILE, but they can also be RECLUSIVE, so proceed at your own risk.

Braiden was born and (mostly) raised in London, England. He was born to Delila (art conservationist at the British Museum) and Daniel Beckett (conservative member of parliament). They were already having marriage struggles before he came along, but adding a baby into the mix had the opposite of the intended effect of helping stabilize it.
He watched his father abuse his mother in ways that weren't always visible. He'd hear her sobbing into the late hours of the evening when she assumed he was sleeping, but how could he possible get rest when she was being terrorized a few doors down? His father's anger lingered deep inside of him, as well, but Braiden's was geared towards the man who made home a place of torment instead of safety.
Eventually, he started to stand up for his mother, and his father's ire shifted to him. Braiden didn't mind, as long as his mother was safe. When his younger sister was born, his mission shifted to protecting her, too. So long as Braiden lived under Daniel Beckett's roof, he would never lay his hands on Delila or Dinah again.
To the outside world, they were an idyllic family. Inside, Braiden was a storm of anger with no clear outlet. He used art and sex as a means of escape from his reality, and got caught up in a few street fights now and then when someone spoke to him the wrong way. He built himself up until finally, when he was 17, he fought back.
His father attempted to go after Dinah when she accidentally ripped the hem of an expensive dress at school. Braiden blacked out and beat his father nearly to death before his mother managed to pull him off. She made him clean himself up before they called an ambulance, and they agreed on a story about an intruder being the perpetrator instead. His father never made it out of the hospital, and Braiden knew he needed to leave before the truth was discovered and it implicated the only people he cared about. He hasn't seen them since, but he has sent gifts for every holiday since.
He fled to Turkey, where his mother's family lived, and started his life anew. He focused on his art, eventually moving to Istanbul and opening a gallery. He captured the attention of Ozan Agha, who utilized Braiden's knowledge (thanks to his mother) to appraise art, joining the ranks of Kurtlar in the process. After the man disappeared years ago, he volunteered to be one of the members to expand into the US, no longer seeing a need to stay in Turkey. He's been an appraiser for nearly 20 years at this point, working at the Heritage Vault, and has a studio space in the Arts District of LA. He keeps mostly to himself and out of the spotlight, but one may spot him walking his two rescue pitties around the city.
