It is with great pleasure we announce the acceptance of JEN for the role of PURPOSE ( Camille Moore portrayed by Hunter Schafer ).

Maeve and I are more than willing to look through any apps that are submitted and evaluate each of them based on how they fit the skeleton in ways beyond just the faceclaim. However, we really would love to see trans representation in not just the character, but in the faceclaim, because it's not something we have in the group yet. We are really big on inclusivity and diversity here at Archive, and I think it's something that shows throughout both our acceptances and the skeletons themselves! I'll be very honest when I say that from Purpose's earliest concept write-ups, they always read as trans to both of us. That doesn't mean that the character you submit has to be trans, even though we'd really like to see that. There's obviously lots of potential that a cis character submitted is an undeniably strong match in other ways for Purpose, and Maeve and I will absolutely consider that, too. There are lots of fantastic trans actors and models out there that you could choose from for Purpose (several are listed as recommendations on their skeleton too!), but if you want to float someone by us, please feel free to do so :) As a reminder, our submissions for our final open skeleton, Purpose, close tonight at 9pm EST!

That's a great question! Maeve answered this same question the first go around — which is that, honestly, it just wasn't something that expanded on. Like Maeve said in the original answer, it's something that we'll more than likely flesh out once the full group is together!

Something that Maeve and Fae have really been emphasizing with all of our apps is wanting to see a strong sense of personhood from the character and, especially, their ability weakness — four of our five acceptances the other night highlighted the ability weakness in the acceptance post! We've mentioned before that we want to see actually detrimental abilities to what your character is capable of. Purpose's abilities are not easy to contend with or for the faint of heart and have a heavy emotional cost being in such close proximity to the dead. Do they process grief well? Do they know that they're grieving as a result of this particular manifestation? How did this ability find them or how did they develop it? Have they learned important lessens from those in the beyond? It should be noted that, of the Purpose apps we previously received, one of the players was accepted and one app was from myself! The apps weren't lacking so much as the players were already accepted. I also can't overstate enough that our ideal Purpose is trans and should be represented as such. While not all of the FC suggestions ( both in the tag and on the page ) are trans, we have made an effort to offer a number of trans faces to hopefully find someone who sparks muse. I think these are all of my most pressing pieces of advice that I can offer, but if you have any further questions, please feel free to send us another ask or shoot a dm our way! I should be around for at least another hour or two tonight!

Friend, I know how you feel! We're just about twelve hours from when our submit is closing and we haven't seen anything come through the inbox just yet. I do want to say, if you've sent an app and you have not seen it added to the count, please submit! We want to make sure that we're including all of our potential applicants in the final consideration for Purpose!

A great question! Purpose is one of my favorite skeletons and, like you mentioned, there's a ton of inspiration already in the tag. That said, I would love to see some of those answers extrapolated upon in the app if they speak to you! If there's a specific fandom, franchise, or other theme that we haven't already done and you'd like to see the skeletons sorted in, though, please feel free to ask!
