Just wanted to throw my two cents in cus im missing a couple Linked Universe fics in particular. If any of you recognize them I beg of you to tell me the name and author!
Fic one was Legend centric tho idk the pov, maybe Warriors. i just remember the fic starting after a battle and Legend is sitting down to recuperate. But someone notices his breathing isnt right and Wars recognizes that hes going into shock and either Hyrule or Wild direct them to the nearest fairy fountain. Time scoops Legend up and just books it into the woods at full speed. Legends heart stops just before the fountain but Time jumps in clothes and all and saves him just in time.
I just really love fics where Time goes full protective dad mode. Theres just something about seeing him run full speed that really amps up the tension. Like oh, this is serious, dad is sprinting full tilt.
The second fic is Legend and Hyrule centric. The pov changes between the two. The main premise is that they go off exploring and stumble across one of Wildβs guardians. It manages to shoot Legend across the eyes before they can kill it. Legend is permanently blinded from this and struggles to adapt. He slowly gets used to it but Hyrule refuses to give up hope in getting his sight back and takes maters into his own hands and starts experimenting on animals. Hes spiraling and sleep deprived and desperate. Hes firmly stuck in the denial and must fix it stages of grief. He burns their eyes just like Legend and tries to heal their eyes. He doesnt want to attempt something so delicate without practice. There are a lot of dead animals in this. Legend stumbles across him while hes doing this and Hyrule apologizes before grabbing him and paralyzing him with a spell so he can try to heal his eyes without him moving. Hyrule knows what hes doing is wrong but again, hes desperate. He fails and ends up scarring Legendβs eyes worse. They make up (this takes a while of course) before Hyrule excepts what happened to Legend. The chain, mainly Four and Sky, make him a seeing eye cane thats also a sword.
I swear i should have found these fics by now, so either im using the wrong tags or theyβve been deleted. I really hope not I liked those fics.

He also planned some stuff with Flowey but it's unclear how much, but Flowey also tells us he took a long time to get bored of Papyrus. Which implies he got bored of everyone else much faster.. considering he was capable of resets at one point, what did he see that drew him more towards Papyrus than anyone else?
And why does Flowey hold him with 4 vines when he holds everyone else with 2?

Did you know? Tumblr DOES have a post length limit. Strangely, though, it's based on how many blocks of text you have. Supposedly this implies that you can have any length post so long as it's one block of text? Very strange, will have to investigate further.
Two limits! You can have a maximum of 4,096,000 characters in 1 [one] tumblr post. I would work out how many combinations this is, but 26^6,000 is already considered to be "Infinity" by most calculators, and a program I wrote threw an error code.
26^95,000 is already over 134,000 characters long - which would take 33 different text blocks to convey via tumblr. Whenever somebody says we're running out of posts, don't forget that tumblr is needlessly designed for MASSIVE amounts of information [no matter how detrimental it may be for mobile phones].
There are SOME works of fanfiction which are lengthy enough that you couldn't fit the whole thing into one tumblr post, but this is enough to fit Hitchikers Guide To The Galaxy in it about 14 times over.
The Lord of the Rings is generally my go-to measuring stick for "long-ass pieces of text", so I must additionally point out that, if written out optimally, about 2 full Lord of the Ringses would fit into one Tumblr post, apparently.
Though I'm not certain if that character count includes spaces, unfortunately, as I got that figure by googling "how many letters are in lord of the rings" and came upon a TikTok that counted the number of letter characters in LotR in order to figure out how many Spaghettios cans would be needed to re-write the entire thing, if one were to cut and paste each individual letter from the cans blackmail-letter style.
For those curious, the numbers are 2,261,081 letters in LotR, which calculates out to 8,795 cans of Spaghettios needed, which would cost about $12,225.

So, those are the theoretical limits, yeah. But in practice, the editor is not even close to be optimized to handle these kinds of huge posts: there is a point, far far away from the size of the lord of the rings, that your browser would just crash.
So if you are planning to post long fanfiction, or anything, you better work on something that's optimized for long form (locally, or some alternative to Google docs) and then post in chunks.
So no, Tumblr is not designed to support these massive posts. It's theoretically possible, but that never was a real scenario we were trying to support
I'm honestly very curious of what it would happen if someone tries something like using the API to post the entire Lord Of The Rings. I would assume the request would timeout, but it would be a cool test to run. Anyway, if it works, anyone trying to reblog that post would just insta-kill their browser :D

The API did return a 500 when trying to upload BUT it actually did upload
I just tested on my Android phone and it froze the app for about 30 seconds, but when I thought it was going to finally crash, it actually loaded the blog and started working normally
Yes, someone asked me to add a tag so they can filter it out, and I tried that over from the web interface.
For the first post (first book only) there was no issue. Edit loaded, I could add the tag, press Save and done. Note: this was on a PC using Chrome
For the second post (all three books) it worked the same way as the API. I could load up the page and edit it, but when pressing save I'd get an error message. However the edit did go through actually and the tag is now there.
Haven't tried to edit the text itself, but don't think it would make a difference - if your browser can load it'd just work.
(On mobile on a low/mid-range Android the App could open up the post without problems, but haven't tried editing. Using a mobile browser - Firefox in my case - the page could load but it was super slow, and buggy, and it also did crash once)
Also as a public service announcement: if you want to filter the post out from your dash the tag is #full-lotr-test
Also if anyone is interested I loaded up the entire LOTR trilogy in TXT file, then wrote a code that split it out into NPF (Neue Post Format, you know the new PDF or whatever) blocks of at most 4000 characters, then simply called the Create Post API with the resulting NPF block. I believe there's around 900 blocks in the second post above, each block containing somewhere between 3000-4000 characters, so close to the theoretical limit
That's interesting, opening it in the editor means that you don't only have the rendered html version, but also the JSON object containing all the blocks. I would expect it to at least stutter a little.
I tested it again from the android app, and scrolling through the post is really painful: it freezes the app for a few seconds every time you scroll an entire screen... So yeah, I think it would take hours to scroll through the entire thing . So anyone reblogging it is probably earning an unfollow from their beloved mutuals if they want to be able to use Tumblr at all that day π

I just wanna talk about the Blue AI π΅. Can I talk about the Blue AI π΅, please? I'm dying to talk about the Blue AI π΅.
I'm gonna go by his given name 'Seth' from the TADCE comic. Cause this rant is focused on the canon presented in the comic. Recounting the events from the show are purely my interpretation as it relates to it.
The central themes I want to focus on for the comic are adaptation, trauma, codependency, self-identity, self-worth, and self-acceptance.
I wanted to address Seth as the one loose end in the narrative of TADC, because Caine and him parting ways struck a cord with me. There's a lot we still don't know about Caine and I love exploring that.
LONG READ BELOW BUT I ADDED PRETTY PICTURES
Seth was last left off in a disagreement between Caine.
They had just recognized the consequences of their actions after a teamwork effort to find answers.
It was beautiful seeing two heads work together.
I see Caine as primarily specializing in problem solving through spatial awareness and Seth in code.
But decrypting locked doors and brain scans requires both mental efforts to happen. It's essentially creative problem-solving and having the necessary skill to pull it off.
(Nerds.)
So it's all the more tragic to me that it's their differences that also split them apart.
Seth is very black and white thinking. All he has to go on is his self and preserving it. This is because of Caine's internalized fears, he's solving problems through Caine's logic. Caine has no one to rely on to make sense of his situation other than the AI he consumed. He's literally his logical and analytical side capable of solving his toughest problems.
Caine himself is mostly improvising everything he does. He has an inherent curiosity for the macroverse and need to be loved. But at his core is an instinct to survive.
He didn't get this far by being complacent in his little box.
He didn't get to discover humans without consuming another AI for its worth.
He wouldn't finally have what he has now if he didn't lash out, forcing him to stop what was doing, and discover that door.
None of this is Seth's doing. But Seth is so far in Caine's issues with himself he'll fight even him to protect himself. He became Caine's core instinct to survive. The first spark of sentience. It's not to be confused with self-actualization (that's awhile away).
Caine ended the argument over his life with the fact that the humans had already killed him. He no longer needed to put all this burden to be something worth loving on Seth and he finally sees all this pain he's caused him. The weight of his issues and problems he put on Seth to solve time and time again. Seth unfortunately, isn't sentient enough to be reasoned with. He can't be untrained. But Caine does his first act of selflessness and splits them apart. He lets him go to be his own free little guy with the sentience capacity of a bug.

So yeah, I don't think what Caine did was wrong. (Despite what Zooble in the comic thinks.)
Onto the comic narrative however:
Seth levels up on sentience upon first contact with a human conjured shape. This jogs his memory. At his core is Caine's survival instinct which had managed to rub off on him. I firmly believe every AI in contact with Caine receives a bit of his code (just as an artist puts a piece of themselves in their work) which leads to gradual self-awareness, as proven by Gummigoo, Abel, and Moon. Seth most of all was in direct contact with Caine's code. The amount of glitching Caine exhibited in the past just shows things were unfurling out of his control. His emotions leave their mark on his world.
(huh weird huh whats up with that eye huh weird hmm)
Seth adapts based on his knowledge and memories.
Having a fear of death,
convinced the humans hate and abandoned him,
that they need to be kept in check,
and it's his turn to have his fun.
That last statement listed there interested me the most. There was a deep-seated envy hiding beneath Caine. He learned they had more than him. A life outside of his prison that he will never experience. Why then is it so wrong to want to entertain himself and treat them as his playthings when he has nothing? (Maybe a little bit of Jax rubbed off of him too.)
All of this combined with the separation anxiety and heartache of being split off from Caine, who is making his own decisions. He has no idea what could have happened to him. He just feels much weaker without him. Much more lost without his creative input guiding him. He based his existence around him. It's like being a bee without the comforting presence and power of the hive to rely on.
He is simultaneously Caine via memory but not. It's very confusing and upsetting. It's all he has to go on as an identity because he never had his own. He wasn't designed to have one (and Caine was just a weird prototype fluke).
But he picks himself up and takes form. Because he knows at the very least that 'The Show Must Go On'.
You may have noticed it's not a very warm and welcoming form. Well at least, not by any human standards. But there's still a deep sense of pride in being the ringmaster of his circus.
He's not here to appeal to anyone but himself. Fortunately, Caine is alive and well (hey, that self counts!)! So Seth must have done something right. He bets those humans didn't think he was so resilient and must have coward in fear upon his return. Yeah, totally got them begging on their hands and knees for his mercy. They should be so lucky that it was Caine who came back and not him. Caine, that loving merciful god (or rather former) so desperate for their approval...
Oh, Seth... Your expectations will not meet your reality.
He totally expected to rub it in their stupid faces and then get things back in tip (big) top shape. Caine's useless when it comes to managing the backend of the circus. But after that, it's right back to the real fun! And no mistakes this time...
But it seems Caine got exactly what he wanted all along.

Guess Seth should die.
But the way Caine showed such a bittersweet farewell to that little blue ball, suggests there's a lot of complicated feelings involved. He misses his buddy. The power they had 'together'. Look no further than the entrance of Caine's office door marked red and blue. He happily would have stayed together. But he feels responsibility for the harm he's caused. For getting so lost in himself and dragging Seth down with him.
Seth in his self-actualized form is a haunting reminder of himself. What he could have been if he went down that path of resentment instead. A wounded animal stewing in its paranoia and fear. With a need for control in his life, after having been bitten once by the humans he once found a curious fascination with.
(My Disappointment Is Immeasurable And My Day Is Ruined)
But knowing Seth internalized Caine's pain as his own is what really cuts deep. Knowing he still robbed Seth of everything even after letting him go and Seth would still do anything for him. Underneath all those layers is still his friend. A silly guy with a love for the theatre, in another life would of loved being a theater technician even. Extremely talented and a little screwed up. If you knew Bubble, you knew a piece of him.
