Hello, and apologies for the update delay. We were waiting on the accompanying chibi art and decided to push this update out to June. We'll be right back to the once every two month schedule after this!

PROGRAMMING

We're currently looking at about a three month timeline for completing the backend programming, plus some other updates.

This will include the in-game shop, additional features, player upgrades, an anti-cheat system, and bug testing. This is really good news!

We're also dropping in the sound effects for the routes, which has been fun. Things like footsteps, doors opening, and background chatter in crowded rooms.

VOICE ACTING

We're excited to share a teaser for Milo's phone calls. Pasta is mentioned (of course) 🍝

Hello! It's getting closer to spring, so we hope everyone is enjoying warmer weather. This March we have some programming news and challenges to share.

ARTWORK

First, we actually have some new artwork to tease! This is a sketch of Alexei for promotional illustrations that'll be shared when the game releases.

PROGRAMMING

On to a programming update. We've been working out the logistics of making a visual novel for mobile devices using Ren'Py, which is the go-to engine for creating VNs. Ren'Py will be adding in-app purchase support for the currency system in IB (great!), however, there is still no support or way we've found for users to add their own pictures as a profile photo in the game chatroom.

Hopefully someday Ren'Py will add support for this, but for now we'll have to resort to a limited selection of profile photos for the user to choose from.

The other challenge we've run into has to do with the notification system. Previously in the demo, all future phone notifications for new chats would be queued up all at once. This was fine for the one day demo, but for the ten day main game, that many notifications consumes a lot of battery life on a phone.

So, we're now working out a new notification system, which will ripple effect a few other changes. Mainly, as the game progresses in real time, the chatrooms/events will not be stacked up in a queue for the player to play through at a later time. Only the most recent chatroom/event will be unlocked until the player plays it. More on this later.

A bit of a disappointing update, but we're doing what we can and will hopefully find some workarounds in the future.

Hello and a happy 2026 to you! We hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. It was a bit slow for us, so we have a smaller update, but we do have a fun preview of the game below.

UPDATE OVERVIEW

Programming: Still working on programming Brooklyn's route. In the meantime, we've been testing the other four routes for bugs and issues.

Background Variations: We have the BG variants completed for 4/6 routes. Here's a little change between a sunny day and a more overcast day for one of Leo's backgrounds.

Promotional Material: We've started to commission a set of promotional artwork for the game.

Artbook: We're also moving forward with the artbook. There'll be fun interviews with a few people who worked on IB and some bonus content.

PREVIEW

Today we have an extended preview of a chat with Brooklyn and Rory! This occurs on Leo's route 😊🌹

THIS YEAR

We made good strides with the programming of the routes in 2025, but overall progress was on the slower side. With the new year here, we're feeling motivated and excited to focus on game completion. Thank you for sticking with us for another year. It's often felt dismaying with how long it's taken to come this far, but we HAVE come this far! We hope you have a fantastic 2026 and look forward to all things Infinite Blue to come ✨

Hello and happy November! Our new update cycle starts now - every other month you'll be hearing from us!

UPDATE OVERVIEW

Programming: Brooklyn's route is in progress. Once his is done, we'll only have two more routes to script - Alexei and Rory's.

Voice Acting: We've begun sending out scripts for Milo's route, and we'll soon be compiling the lines for the characters on Brooklyn's.

Background Variations: Some of the few art pieces left are the variations of backgrounds, such as weather/time of day changes. We've gotten started on these!

Promotional Material: With the voice acting lines coming in, we're thinking about promotional material for when the full game is released. We've got some fun phone call audio as well as promo illustrations on the way.

MEET GRIFFIN

For this update, we're introducing Griffin Ellis, a supporting character who appears on Leo's route. Please look forward to our standoffish DnD specialist and harp maestro.

Hello everyone! This is an update on our news updates to let you all know that we'll be switching to a bi-monthly post. This is simply because with quite a few of the assets having been finished for Infinite Blue, there's just not much new to update on per a monthly basis besides routes being scripted and voice work being completed. Posting every other month will allow for more substantial news and hopefully be a bit less monotonous.

Thank you so much for your understanding and patience in waiting for this game so far. It's been a long journey, but we're still so excited for its release!

UPDATE OVERVIEW

Programming: Milo's route has been programmed in, along with Tobias and Leo. We're halfway there! Brooklyn will be up next. In the meantime, we're trying to sort out players using their own profile photos/avatars from their camera roll in the chatroom. We should be good for Android, but iOS will take more investigation.

Voice Acting: Last month we received finished lines for the two side characters on Leo's route. The process for line work is time consuming - reviewing the script, sending it to the voice actor, editing the voice file once received, chopping up the audio into many files to match each voice line, and updating the script to make sure it's consistent. But it's very rewarding to hear the finished phone calls.

MUSIC TEASER

Not only will we have new music tracks in the full game, but the older tracks have been updated to match the quality of the newer tracks. Have a listen to the latest version of "Daydreaming on the Clock."

Hello, July! We hope everyone is having an excellent summer. We've had a busy few months outside of game dev, so we don't have a lot of updates for you, but we will be sharing a few chatroom stickers!

UPDATE OVERVIEW

A quick breakdown: We're still working on programming Milo's route, and we're looking forward to receiving new voice lines by the end of the month. We're working on moving ahead with backend programming. There's a lot to consider since there will be a store, so we need to protect user information as well as protect the game from hacking.

CHATROOM STICKERS

For this month, we're sharing a few complete sticker sets of the boys that will pop up during your chats with them. These were a lot of fun to sprinkle throughout the scripts!

Voice acting: We've just sent out voice scripts to voice actors for Leo's route. Up next will be for Milo.

Other stuff: Backend programming got delayed, but we'll hopefully be getting back on track for that shortly. We also hope to update the Android demo version soon.
