Judging from the lyrics at hand, I’d say that after the strike you were most likely angry at Davey, mainly for what happened to Crutchie, and you said a lot of things that you didn’t mean. Hence the theme of getting carried away, and profusely apologising for the things you didn’t mean to say. 

You’re torn apart because on one hand, he’s still your friend, and probably didn’t mean for what happened to have happen, but at the same time, it was he who rallied the Newsies together in the first place. Most Cavetown songs are hard for me to read, especially with shufflemancies, but the confusion of the song and lyrics really stand out that there was some sort of stint in your friendship after the incident. It greatly affected your mental health in some sort of way, what with the cult and all, and what you had really been eating. 

You were irrational towards Sally, but the calmness of the song suggests that he was also patient with you, and still wanted to have a friendship. 

I asked my pendulum if you became friends again, proper friends, and my pendulum gave me a No.

From the overall atmosphere of the song, it may be possible that MC either wanted to be friends, or something more, but you seemed to be having none of it. You wanted them to ‘earn’ that privelage, as heiresses do. You respected and liked having them around, but you wanted them to impress you. You had enough development together for you to be incredibly sassy towards them, but if they had asked you certainly wouldn’t have called them a friend.

His powers of empathy and compassion are wasted in favour of refreshing the past and feeling sorry for himself. In which case, you must have felt the same way, with a hatred for the mafia that killed your girlfriend, and a self loathing that consumed you through and through.

From what it sounds like, it may have taken Mikan awhile to adjust from her previous despairful self, and her newer, kinder self. She may still have an infatuation with Junko, and additionally despair for quite some time. Your views on her however may have changed, with a mixed torn feeling of resentment for your death, but also pity, because you now realise what happened.
