So the next island is Koh Tao, this place is known for diving/snorkelling so I guess first thing we need to do here is book a boat trip to do this! We again pre booked our accommodation and decided to stay with in walking distance of the boat. We found this great little place just back from the beach. Again wooden hut but self flushing toilets (I wasn't too sure about this at first) it was fine again why not experience these things? It's a way of life here after all! At least it's not a hole in the ground! The location was great we could have dinner right on the beach & see all the boats parking up for the evening. While eating yummy Thai food! We love Thai food not sure how we are going to cope when we get home!

Koh Tao

This was so much fun exploring this island. The roads are no where near as good as the ones on Koh Samui though, so be careful! We rented a bike again from our hotel $8 AUD for 24hours. Petrol $2 AUD. It was like driving through jungle at some points, lots of hills (glad I was on the back of the bike to keep my eyes closed) but we saw some amazing beaches, beautiful views from the top of hills, great little restaurants & bars. We loved the island, perfect place to chill on the beach get Thai massages, read books, drink beers, eat lots of yummy food & enjoy the views. (Definitely carrying holiday weight after here) ❤️🍹😊🍻☀️

Ko Ma Beach - Koh Phangan

So we also stayed at Bounty Resort which wasn't far from the backpackers. Just a bit closer to the beach, so a 2min walk instead of 5! The place was lovely, again big pool, lovely huts with hammocks, great view & amazing breakfast at a good price. This place was super cheap & would definitely recommend. Next time we r back we will b staying here 😁😜☀️

Koh Phangan - Haad Yao Beach

So our next island to visit is Koh Phangan. There are lots of reviews online saying don't bother going here unless you are going to the full moon party. DONT BELIEVE THEM. This island is so pretty, cute, beautiful beaches, I would go here for a 2 week holiday! We first stayed in a backpackers which was lovely. It was called Shiralea Backpackers Resort - Koh Phangan. It had a big pool, restaurant, bar & different types of accommodation to suit all. We stayed in a wooden hut with fan, it was great all we needed. 5 mins to the beach, where you could see the sun set, drink beers, get a Thai massage & good Thai food 😊❤️

Songserm boats These boats are the slow boats to the islands but are government run so are the best to get, so we were told! We used these to hop to the different islands. They were the slower boats but super cheap & had Mr Bean showing! (Charlie Loved) they also do a joint ticket transfer so we had used them on the train & the buses too.

Lami Beach - Thai food Dinners The Dinners were amazing here! So tasty, with so much flavour & spice. We tried out a few restaurants but went back to the same one a couple of times to try different dishes. There are lots of family run restaurants which is lovely, everyone so friendly & helpful. Wanting to make sure ur having the best time on their island.☀️😎🍹🍻

So we decided to rent a bike one day & explore the island. We rented this from the hotel & it was super cheap & a newish bike. We paid 8AUD for the day. The island was a lot bigger than I first thought! They had an elephant sanctuary on the island with tigers too. We didn't go to this, but it looked cool. We drove the coast all the way round stopping at the north near the airport, this resort was a very busy compared to Lami beach, it also had big clubs. The beach their was so busy so we were glad with the location we had chosen. There were lots of nice little beaches around the island with restaurants on the front & sunset bars on one side!

So on a Wednesday night in Lami beach resort they have Muay Thai. It's such a good atmosphere, a boxing ring with seats around the sides, which are connect to bars. You just have to buy ur drinks from the same bar all night to get a good seat. Would recommend getting there an hour b4 if you want to be able to see! First be4 the Muay Thai starts they had a lady boy show which was good to see. How are they so skinny?!? When the Muay Thai started, they would get in to the ring & I think pray. Then walk around the ring stopping at each corner to pray again! Loved the music throughout the Muay Thai, I feel this made it so different to normal boxing, they would keep a rhythm going to the music with their feet/leg. We watched 8 fights altogether. Starting with the young children, they can't have been older than 8, then the teens, the women & the the men. Half way though they had a break & played a game where every1 could join in. They have a balloon blown up on an elastic band & put it round ur leg. The last one with their balloon won. Was funny to see & the lady boys got very involved! The last match was between a Russian man & a Thai man. The Russian looked huge & very keen. The Thai man wasn't too bothered. The Russian went straight for the Thai guy but the Thai guy gave him one hard kick & knocked him straight out! He was done! With in 10secound! Crazy! Such an experience! Definitely worth going too!

Muay Thai Boxing

As we had a 17 hour journey we decided to pre book our accommodation in Koh Samui. We decided to stay on Lami beach we heard it had a nice beach, lots of restaurants & bars close by. Lami Beach is about 20mins by transfer from where the boat drops u off. We arrived at rich Resort & it was lovely. Big rooms with good air con, across from the beach with a bar & pool, perfect. We decided to stay for 8 nights so we could go to the Muay Thai boxing, explore the island & chill on the beach 😊

Koh Samui

So we read online to only book though government company's. So made our way to the train station to book directly. Here we were able to book a train, bus then boat to Koh Samui which was exactly what we were after. The next day we arrived 30mins before our train departed. We found our seats & luggage storage section. We had booked the second class sleeper, both top bunks as that was all that was available. I think really you should book a few days in advance as we were luck to get beds across from each other! At about 8pm some one came round to make up the beds! He was super quick at this. We were in bed & before we knew it was morning! 17hours on the train and we were off on a bus. For an hour, then the boat for another hour & finally made it to Koh Samui. ☀️😜

Night train

This is a great hostel defo recommend this place. Such a good location, aircon double dorm beds, secure lockers for your bags, free laundry & a cute little cafe below. We are definitely going to be back at this place when we come back in a few weeks! 😊
