āRight, got it. Promise. I wonāt hold you back from work.ā A warm smile spreads across painted lips, laced with just a bit of her natural playfulness. If she didnāt look so tired and skinny, it would have been as if nothing changed. And surely, nothing had changed, she was still just as smitten with Angela as when they were first dating. She thought about her every day, ever chance she had to have a calm and clear mind, it was her, it was always her. But she was smart. She knew what kinds of people had vendettaās against her and the sorts of thing theyād do to someone she cared about. No matter how much she wanted to pick up the phone and call, she wouldnāt let herself.Ā
Now, she was going to hold on and never let go again.Ā
When she gestures to the backpack, the hacker glances at it quickly. She didnāt have much in there, a change of clothes, a canteen, some of the tech sheād been working on in her down time. There was nothing important there, everything important was right here.Ā
Hesitantly, the hacker moves to take Angelaās hand, gently lacing their fingers together, leading her back to their shared room. It was muscle memory, the way she moved throughout the house as if she hadnāt been gone for the last year. It took so much to get them here, sheās happy to see that too much had not changed. Sheās selfish for it, but sheās happy that her lover waited for her.Ā
āThere is something that I need to tell you, amor, before word gets out.ā She says gently, turning to face her once they enter the bedroom. She takes her other hand as well, lifting it to her lips to press a kiss to her knuckles.Ā
āI donāt know how much of this is going to get out, and I know I donāt deserve any more help from you than youāve already given me.ā It was true, Angela saved her from many things, none were so destructive as her own habits and bad decisions,Ā āThe only reason I made it out alive is because I should have been dead. They thought I was, so I destroyed everything, erased everything. Essentially, Sombra doesnāt exist anymore.āĀ
She takes a breath, letting her go and sitting on the edge of the bed. There is a smile on her face though, one that reaches right up into her eyes.Ā
āI had to do anything to get back here. Do you think you could get Overwatch to back it up? Itāll be much easier for me to lay low if thereās no doubt in anyoneās mind that Iām gone.āĀ
