Welcome to my blog

Hi everyone, and welcome to my new official blog for all things Musketeers/Santiago Cabrera! I am non-binary, assigned female and my pronouns are she/her/hers & they/their/theirs (these can be used interchangeably and I will not be offended). This was originally a sub blog under my main account, but as I’ve gotten heavily active in this fandom, I’m moving it and all it’s content over to a main blog.

My writing tumblr is @silvermillenniumqueenneptune which is where I will take requests. Links to all of my stories will be posted there. Unfortunately I do not have the time nor energy to do a masterlist-- as of March 2024, I have over 170 fics across 34 fandoms. My AO3 pseud for all my Musketeer fanfic is also linked. I identify deeply with the character of Aramis, so most posts and fanfics shared here will be Aramis/Star Trek:Picard and/or generally Santiago Cabrera centric.

Fandom confusion

I've gotten sucked into a new fandom thanks to my obsession with Santi. If you ever want to see Santi play somewhat of a "villain"-esque character with a heart of gold, anger problems and a bad boy edge, this is the perfect role. And my man is killing it. (as I knew he would) Warning for anyone who is planning to watch but hasn't done so yet-- this character is a head spin, especially if your major exposure to Santi has been in his more heroic roles such as Rios in Picard or Aramis in The Musketeers. You'll still see tiny shades of them here, but they're masked by a heavier level of grief and rage. The "knight in shining armor" instinct of Lancelot and Aramis is clearly still there, for instance. And he seems to carry a bit of the weight of S1 Rios' annoyed-at-the-world, "I want to be left alone" attitude. He's got the smarts of Darius Tanz, and the heat of Zavier Extarte. But oof, this fandom has had it rough with the loss of the incomparable Adan Canto, who played Jorge's nephew Arman Morales. And it's disheartening to see that it seems like the fandom is reluctant to give him a chance. It'll be interesting to see how it all pans out after tonight's ep.

Only difference is, Jorge's a straight up killer, no chasers. And I'm here for it. (Side note: The fact that I can STILL quote that line from memory after almost 10 years [Episode anniversary is in November-- yes, I remember] is a testament to how much I love Santi's portrayal. Zavier was the role that made me fall in love with him, y'all. Jorge's just repeating the spiral.)

i can see jorge and thony being a thing at some point in the show’s run.

it seems like the show runners were probably setting up a love triangle/quadruple with Arman, Thony, Nadia and Jorge…..mayybbeee

but now I think they’ll slowly explore thony and Jorge being both highly educated single parents/widows who are in crime….i see the vision and I’m not mad at it. i can see myself liking thony and jorge.

So, I responded to the OP from my fanfic writing tumblr but I have some thoughts on this. DISCLAIMER: I have, in fact, seen both previous seasons of The Cleaning Lady.

That said... I don't look for the show to bring back Arman, given that the actor who portrayed him has passed away. I don't think there is anyone who could capture the lightning in a bottle feeling of Arman as portrayed by Adan, or his character's chemistry with Thony/the electric connection he shared with Elodie (probably most palpable in their scenes in S1E10: The Crown-- if you're a fan you know there's one exact scene I'm referencing--and it just popped right into your head).

Beyond that, they already did a complicated love storyline with Arman having feelings for Thony despite the fact that both were married. Also, to bring Arman back onto the canvas, unless you're going to put him strictly with Nadia again (which I never cared for in the first place) you would have to put him in romantic competition with his (albeit seemingly close in age) uncle. Bottom line-- I think the Armony ship has likely sailed (outside, of course, of fanon and fanfic.) Time to give Jorge a chance.
