Perhaps it was the bags forming under his eyes that gave it away—or the fact that he had been caught awake at late hours of the night. It didn’t matter, if he was being painfully honest—they shouldn’t have been worrying about him in the first place. Shinjiro huffs through his nose, gaze leaving Mitsuru for a moment.

This was part of the reason that he didn’t want to be part of this in the first place. It felt like everyone was doting on him—something he wasn’t used to anymore nor did he even like. He could do whatever the hell he wanted—he didn’t need anyone, let alone Mitsuru, to be concerned about his sleeping habits. A hand comes to rub the back of his neck idly.
