No update today, unfortunately, because the artist is somewhere on a boat in the Atlantic ocean. There WILL, however, be an update next Saturday, so keep sending questions. We'll see you then!
—Jack
In case it’s not obvious, I’m going to be making some changes to the way Aradia runs.
First of all, updates will now come once a week, on Saturday evenings. I tried doing multiple updates a week back in March, and I’m sure that’s part of the reason I got burnt out and had to set it aside for so long. One update a week is reasonable, and more importantly, sustainable.
Second, because I’ll be updating once a week, that means that replies will be more detailed. No more sketches in a void. All replies will be full-color (unless the question somehow makes that impossible), and some will be two- and three-panel comics.
Third, no more handwriting fonts. It was a fun idea at first, to distinguish between the characters, but it’s often difficult to read and just doesn’t look very good. Fonts used on panels will be serif typewriter-style fonts only, and the bulk of the text will be in the description.
So yeah! Send me some questions, guys! I’ve got quite a few left over from the initial run, but new questions are always great, especially as the characters get fleshed out.
...which played a major role in the evolution of neopaganism in the nineteen- fifties and sixties. He claimed it was a collection of genuine beliefs and practices of a group of Italian witches, the central figure being the goddess Aradia. According to Leland, Aradia was the daughter of Diana—the Roman goddess of the moon—and Lucifer, whom he described as a god of the sun. Aradia was said to have been sent to Earth where she became the first witch, and taught the craft to her followers.
When I first started my apprenticeship, I spent a lot of time in the store room flipping through books and studying the illustrations. Which, inevitably, led to long nights reading and researching the text. I first came across Aradia when I was twenty years old, and I remember being fascinated by it—the parallels between Lucifer and Apollo, Aradia and Lilith. There is also a persistent theme of faith as an act of rebellion against oppressors, and more than anything, that idea has lingered with me.

Dear Artist and Blog owner, What was your inspiration to make this ask blog? And also do you plan to become a tattoo artist yourself?
My fellow admin Zee and I had been kicking this AU around since sometime late last year. It was just something purely self-indulgent and fun and neither of us really intended to make anything of it. But we posted about it now and again and people seemed really interested in it, so when someone suggested an ask blog, we figured why not?
As for me personally, tattooing is something I’ve considered before. I really enjoy the style and I’ve been playing with it for years. I’ve just yet to have the opportunity to learn.

I was the one that introduced her to Luci when I saw her killer work. ;D
I don't think Dad ever forgave me for leaving so soon after Mom. We didn't really talk, and it was hard keeping Dean in the loop with things as tense as they were.
It was a few months after he died that I told Dean I wasn't going back to school. He didn't take it so well at first. Didn't really understand why I left in the first place if I wasn't going to graduate. But he came around. He always does.
