We had to write a Mini Comic for my Illustration Class so I did mine based on The Frog and The Scorpion. Hopefully you all know the story!
But if you don’t know the story… In the original the scorpion stings the frog in the middle of the river. When the frog asks “why” the scorpion says “it’s in my nature” and they both die. I like my ending more.
Done with watercolor and pen and ink nib.
Editing Advice Part 1: Continuity
Although I said I wouldn’t be giving writing advice on this blog, I never said anything about editing advice. Plenty of people give (unhelpful, short-sighted, or far too niche) writing advice, but few focus on the crucial final part of the writing process, and yet, editing is what gives a lot of writers the most trouble. I personally love editing far more than the initial writing stage and so am here to offer my advice in not one, not two, not even three, but four—yes four!—blog posts!
First, let’s look at continuity, in three categories: Time, Place, and People. Technically, you ought to keep continuity in mind throughout the writing process, but it’s still easy to forget one or two things. Thus, when you finally decide “I’m going to edit this WIP!”, you need to double check that everything is consistent, not just from a plot standpoint, but from a spacial, chronological, and personal standpoint as well.

I wanted to update about my series, Endangered
Book 1: Complete! Yahnaa's Path (title liable to change) was finished last month. It is about a snow leopard cub who is seperated from her family after an encounter with humans.
The second draft is complete, I may do a third draft in the later months of the year. For now it is put to the side, waiting for its finishing touches.
Book 2: Untitled. A young lowland gorilla decides to take matters into his own hands after poachers kill some of their troop and takes the infants. With a few friends, he stomps through the Congo Rainforest in search of the lost babies.
So far I am only in chapter 2 (or 3, depending on how I figure my first 2 chapters). It's a little difficult to write the poaching scene, but I am enjoying the book overall. The characters are fun.
My books are for the ages 12-14. I am hoping to give adolesances stories they will enjoy and low-key educate them on the animals whose numbers are dwindling.

Sometimes I think the only writing advice worth hearing is that you don’t need to be afraid. It’s okay to take risks and have Mary Sues and write something that’s been done before. Write your story your way. And keep writing it and making it better until you have the best thing that you personally could possibly have created.The rest will sort itself out.

R.I.P. Stan Lee (December 28, 1922 – November 12, 2018)
Today I took a day & focused on something I haven't done in a while: reading for the enjoyment of it.
Writing is amazing. I love storybuilding, character creations, and everything else that goes with it. But some days you need or may just want to focus on something else.
I don't mean to say I've had a complete lazy day; I had personal affairs to attend to throughout the day. Just any time I might have spent writing my book, I opened another. & honestly, I think it helped my writing in the long run. To get out of my head & into someone else's let me focus differently on my WIP when I looked at it next.
So I say this to any writers/artists/musicians: It is okay to take a personal day!
