Cast Iron is a post-apocalypse but bright magical fantasy, focused on a blacksmith with a passion for cooking and his journeys with his friends and allies throughout a rebuilding society where all water in the world is magical. Kane, pronounced Kah-nay, has a special talent for handling magic material, called Cast Iron, and is able to make powerful tools and weapons. He and his best friends Juno, a wind mage and pilot, and Rosso, a studious historian, travel around and fight monsters that have gorged on magic called Ferrols. Supporting characters include Thyme, a stoic monk with a cat familiar and a haunting past, Alacie, a devout sea witch who is a powerful financial player in the politics of the shaky Five Territory Alliance, and Nike , a shady swamp druid with a retinue of ferrol creatures.
