Sometimes when I get tired of listening to my music even though I use Spotify and its radio functionality I want to listen to regular local radio stations.

Some time ago I wrote about a service which I am a fan of, Pagoda Box. Today I want to introduce another service which also can make your developer life a bit easier.
Parse is a platform for mobile developers (although it also can be used for other stuff). Think it of a backend platform which lets you get started with your application in no time. Instead of worrying about hosting (e.g. with Pagoda Box), Parse does all of this for you. It offers a database with an online interface and a rich API with all kind of neat stuff: facebook login, authentication, push notifications and more.
So if you need a backend without the need of having your backend doing a lot of calculations - this could definitely be something for you!
Scribble is about writing wikis using the simple Markdown syntax. Wikis is widely used for documenting all kind of stuff and Scribble makes it extremely easily to collaborate on a simple wiki. This tool is a perfect complement to your existing project management tool if it lacks the wiki functionality.
No question that there exists a bunch of "read that content later" apps and services.
Pocket is another one of these services. It got a pretty nice interface and supports a bunch of devices. It simply just works. Try it out - at least to try something new :)
Google (finally) released their Google Drive app for the iOS the other day along with Chrome for the iOS.
I was really looking forward to this release because I am slowly moving all of my stuff out of Dropbox and into Google Drive. Mainly because I want a tighter integration between my docs and my general synced files.
However I was a bit disappointed with the app. The app itself is "okay", but it is a bit slow and unfortunately does it not support document editing which is a pity, definitely on the iPad.

Say hello to my new monster!
Going to San Diego for 6 months in less than a month I figured that I needed to replace my old Macbook Pro from 2009 since it was going to be my only computer in SD.
Therefore I sold all my stuff including iMac, Macbook Pro and a Mac Mini. I bought the new Macbook Pro with retina display and 512 gigs of awesomeness(SSD). It is literally on fire.. So far I'm very satisfied.
The other day I needed to find a suitable bug/ticket system for a project of mine. I was surprised to see that there aren't many simple, good-looking systems out there.
I ended up choosing Lighthouse which is by far the most simple system with the most appealing interface. It is a bit pricy if you ask me, but it does the job quite well. And ye, it also offers some nice integration with GitHub.
Google recently released their Chrome browser for the iOS. I personally don't use the mobile browsers for anything else than simply just checking a website. So I have always been a bit sceptical when testing out new browsers for my mobile devices.
However I actually think that Chrome has a pretty nice feeling when browsing on the mobile phone. Although I think that I am not going to use all the syncing with open tabs, bookmarks etc. the simply task of browsing websites has somehow got even better with Chrome.
I've tried a lot of snippet managers through time, but I haven't really found one that works for me.
I think I've finally found my match. CodeBox is a code snippet manager for OSX which offers what a lot of other similar apps do: folders, groups, syntax coloring and more. CodeBox just seems to have what I need and the overall feeling when using the app is really good. It's definitely worth a shot.
If you're an app fan like me, you probably know how expensive it can be to buy all these apps all the time.
This is where AppyDays comes in handy. Its an app for the OSX which lets you easily browse through discounted apps. It got all kinds of filters such as: Mac, iPhone, iPad etc.
Although there's a huge amount of apps which I'm definitely not interested in, it still gives me a great overview of the discounted apps.

I don't mention apps for the Windows platform very often on this blog. However I felt like I must present this app today on this raining sunday.
GitHub for Windows is an app most Windows apps should envy in my opinion. It is no secret that the apps for Windows haven't been so appealing like the ones for Mac in a long time. I believe this is about to change with the whole new Windows 8 look and feel. This app is definitely a frontrunner in this new change. Check it out if you're running Windows.
Damn, it feels good to be back! My insane period of exams has finally finished and it feels good to have time for everyday things again :)
Thats why I wanted to post this cool video. Its an upcoming app from Ford (yes wtf? they make cars, right?) which looks quite cool. Its an app for your iPhone (and your Mac.. Windows will come) which uses Bluetooth in order to auto-login into different services. That is, an app that remembers your passwords, but with a nice auto-login feature using the Bluetooth. It looks quite cool.
While I am totally caught up in my exams before the summer break I did some procrastination today, and spotted Found on the Apple App Store.
If you're a fan of using OSX' built-in Spotlight for launching apps and searching for documents (like me), I think you'll like this app. Because that is exactly what Found is all about. And before you think "oh, another one..", then hear me out about the new approach Found takes.
No doubt people are moving more and more stuff to the cloud, and this obviously limits Spotlights (and others) possibility to search through all your items. Found lets you hook up with some of your cloud services, and searches through these services with ease. At the moment Found support Dropbox, Gmail, Google Docs and/or Google Drive.
Go check it out! I am personally not a fan of their preview when searching, but I have sent them some feedback to make it an option - fingers crossed :)
I doubt that you haven't heard about Airtime these days, and if not, here's your chance.
So what is Airtime, and what is up with all the hype? Airtime launched just yesterday and one of the founders is Sean Parker himself. Yes, a quick google will reveal that he is among other things co-founder of the somewhat old popular Napster service.
Airtime is about chatting using your webcam. Think of it as a modern version of Chatroulette. However in Airtime you login using your Facebook account. This makes it possible to video chat with your friends, but it also offers to extend your network by video chatting with strangers.
TestFlight is definitely one of my new favorite tools. TestFlight makes it so freaking easy to distribute your iPhone apps to users for testing.
Invite your test users, add their devices to your provision profile, setup your build by uploading the .ipa file and distribute your app with ease. And all for free! It is really that easy to share your beta app with friends and family for testing while developing. If you're an iOS app developer and haven't tried it yet, you should definitely check it out. Let me know if you experience any problems setting it up.

Besides finalizing my master in Computer Science and preparing for my trip to The States, I basically use all my time on app projects I find interesting.
Some of my own apps in the making is RONDAYWOO which is an online scheduling tool. I assume that you all probably know the really cool tool called Doodle? Me and my friends use this tool very often to plan events etc. However, I also think that Doodle could be better in some areas. Overall when I use the tool, I get the feeling that it is a bit oldish? That's why me and some friends decided to make RONDAYWOO. It was meant as an overnight project, but we ended up using a bit more than a week. The public beta is right around the corner, so stay tuned folks :)
