And here we've got Nim's character sheet!
Yes her hair from the back and side at the moment does look a little weird. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to draw her hair from behind/the side.
Here we've got Nim and her Design! Nim is a nature spirit mixed with a bit of fairy/fae. She managed to live up to a 100 years of age (the oldest character so far). Nim stands at a pretty tall height of 5 feet 6 inches (women during the feudal Japan era usually stood around 4 feet & 1 to 2 inches in height, so Nim here is pretty tall for the time ^.^ ). The necklace around her neck had been placed on/sealed on her neck once she had finished growing. So it'll never come off.
The tree branch that grows from her forehead is from her nature spirit side. A beautiful cherry blossom branch sprouting from there. Lovely cherry blossoms always blooming from the branches. Large fairy wings on her back, which she can semi close (mostly folding the wings down behind her back).
On Nim's left hand, almost all of her pinkie finger is gone, her pinkie finger cut down to the proximal phalanges (the first knuckle).
With the Floral Empire's tradition, almost all of Nim's left pinkie finger had been removed to signal to those within the Empire that not only is she the child of royal blood/born of the royal family, but to show that she was to next take the throne. Before Nim she had 8 other siblings, who each had their finger tips removed, born before her. All of these siblings eventually passed away, ether before she was born or when she was a young child. This is why her finger was cut down to the proximal phalanges (the first knuckle), she also needed to get her finger re-cut off when she was 4 years of age, due to her finger having grown back in that time (Do know that it grew back in side ways) and was cut off again to show her status as the next ruler of the Floral Empire at the time.
Nim is also blind, using her magic to see the world around her. Nim's blindness is a closely guarded secret, that very very few knew about. Only 5 ever knew (outside of her parents, previous siblings, her husband, and sons) the head court physicians, the head generals, the head cooks, any poison taste testers she got (many of the previous ones she had growing up sadly passed away from their jobs, the few that didn't would take the secret to their graves as complications that would render them disabled for the rest of their lives), and finally the one person that Nim trusted as her eyes Mei. Mei is a human friend that Nim made when she was 50 years of age, and Mei was only 6 years of age. Mei has closely guarded Nim secret and would always make sure that no one found out. Being her eyes and closest Lady in Waiting.
As a nature spirit and fairy/fae hybrid she's able to use all sorts of nature magic from her nature spirit side and a couple different fairy/fae magic. From warping magic, some destructive magic, magic force manipulation magic (this is the magic that she uses to see), elemental magic (mostly water/ice, but she can use a small handful of fire magic), illusion magic, light magic, energy magic, and sleep magic. But she is mostly/widely known primarily for her nature magic.
Nim is always wearing her metal crown that has a metal flower of a Kosumosu (cosmos) flower on it (I'm working on an animation, that'll show an interesting/fun idea I've got for this crown ^.^). She only really wears her Benkan crown during ceremonies. Nim isn't one to really dress all that extravagantly trying her best to wear the most simple of outfits and make-up (key word being try). But one days of ceremony she goes almost all out, the only time she ever went all out for her outfits/make-up was the day that she fell in love and married her partner, and the day that she revealed her sons to her Empire.
In the bottom right corner you can see a very tired Nim with her little babies/toddlers Nightmare and Dream. You see Nightmare isn't really a day monster and would prefer to be up at night and stay up al night long, while sleeping during the day. So it take a lot longer to get him to sleep, and if he wakes up in the night he gets super upset upon realizing that everyone is asleep and starts crying. Being even more upset when he realizes that his mom is asleep.
While Dream is an energetic little ball of energy. Usially taking just as long to get him to sleep light Nightmare. Some nights just completely refusing to sleep as a result. So despite being put to sleep once he's up, it takes a long time to get him back to sleep.
At the moment I'm also thinking of a possible idea of Nim's spirit following around Nightmare. Since he had been taken and is so far away from the Floral Empire. And Cinder's encountering her spirit from time to time.
Okay to quickly explain Nim's age real quickly. Since I partly based Nim's design on a fairy/fae I had to look up the life span of the two mythologies. From what I could find Fairies usually lived an average 450 year live span though from what I found they could also live up to be 600 years old if they got lucky. While Fae's managed to live around the same life span as a fairy, since Fae's are usually a type of fairy. So that's why Nim is as old as she is.
