Rep. Richard Hudson is not some lightweight nobody: he chairs the National Republican Congressional Committee. So, the man running the campaign to keep Republicans in power has just endorsed legalizing an illegal workforce.
These politicians will say that none of the bills are amnesty because they don’t grant automatic citizenship, but the bills provide a legal status and the legal infrastructure for undocumented migrants to continue coming into the country and abusing flaws in the system--including birthright citizenship--in the hopes they won’t be deported. Regardless of whether support for it is framed as humanitarian, or is corporate influence, or is just well-meaning ignorance, supporters of these bills are actively working against the interests of their constituents, their party, and their country.
