Danny Phantom au where instead of being vengeful, Vlad is protecting the Fentons from the Guys in White (GIW). When the family goes to Winconsin to meet up with Vlad, the first thing that happens is that they are suddenly under paint ball fight. Jazz and Danny are surprised, but Jack and Maddie are delighted. They take out their own weapons - the Fenton Anti Ghost Paint Blaster (shoots normal and anti ghost paint (also Fenton Patented; paint must be shot separately) - and start shooting back.
It turns out that Vlad is just as eccentric as the couple, his just better at hiding from public. So after that welcome, Vlad and the Fenton couple catch up with each other while he shows the family around the castle. Vlad isn't aggressive to Jack (he's just as happy to see Jack) but Danny can still sense ghosts lingering around so his a little bit suspicious.
So when night rolls around, Danny turns into his ghost form and starts scouting the area about. He sees the vultures (who are annoyed to see him), but it seems to be more or less empty. Right until Plasmius reveals himself, annoyed that another ghost is in his territory. They get into an alteration, and of course Plasmius comes out on top, knocking out Danny. Once Danny wakes up, he is back in bed and Vlad is sitting in a nearby chair waiting for him to wake up.
It turns out Vlad is the ghost Danny just fought, but Vlad thought he was trespassing which was why he attacked him. They swap stories and Danny learns how Vlad became a half ghost as well as why he never told Jack and Maddie about it (apart from the whole ghost hunter thing). It turns out that Vlad met the GIW very early on and he had figured out that their not above using human hostages to get what they want.
So now Danny has to worry about other human hunters who pose more danger than his parents. At least he has a mentor now. A very eccentric one.
Daniel Masters badger cereal AU.... where the explosion happens but he doesn't turn into dark Phantom.
I like the idea of Danny being adopted by Vlad but his means of dealing with grief means casting away the person he used to be. He starts to adopt more of Vlad's traits.

I don't care what the fandom thinks Jazz makes a terrible fucking therapist.
Jazz during 'My Brother's Keeper" assumes she knows Danny better then he knows himself. She tells Lancer “If he doesn’t get some help, all that frustration he’s repressing could come out the wrong way.”
She doesn't ask Danny, doesn't check in, she doesn't even listen to him. She's the one who decides.
Therapists don't decide they should be asking.
Jazz never asked him.
Every time she tries to help him Danny he gets even worse. I'd get angrier too, more withdrawn, more defensive, and a lot more miserable if an untrained sixteen year old who'd much rather control emotional situations so she doesn't have to feel her own emotions.
Never asks how he feels, but sure loves diagnosing him. She never connects with him, she just analyzes, and never comforts she just lectures him.
Never respects Danny's autonomy to decide for himself whether counseling would be a good fit for him. Jazz just doesn't just violate his boundaries she fucking bulldozes it.
Never visits the school counselor herself before they replaced whoever it was with Spectra.
She's not supportive of Danny. She's controlling.
She even tries buying her way into her Brother's life by handing Tucker and Sam a twenty- dollar bill.
Damn, bitch.
No, stop me if I'm wrong, but Jazz is not cut out for therapy, psychology, counseling, or any field related to emotions and the human mind. But also because that scene demonstrates she fundamentally doesn't understand how trust works.
Bypassing Danny's boundaries by handing them some bribe money speaks volumes about her character.
She thinks she's entitled to Danny's secrets.
That trust must be earned.
If I were Sam I would have taken out my gucci branded wallet. Flashed a fat stack of cash thicker then a phone book and just show how out of depth her bribe to reveal Danny's inner world meant to her.

Being set in the 1980s, Girl Out of Time is a prime opportunity for me to pay respects to the media of the decade. Dani's antagonist, the Extractor, is an homage to Terminator. I'm very fond of this AU because it fits so well within the boundaries of canon that I don't have to leap through many hoops to make things work. It cleanly replaces D-Stabilized as a sequel to Kindred Spirits, and I consider it a thematic successor to The Ultimate Enemy. Where Danny travels to the future for a second chance, Dani travels to the past.

Chess Piece is a 2006 Danny Phantom AU fancomic made by Neo Yi. It was started sometime in 2006, and was discontinued around 2010. Eventually, the comic was deleted off of it’s former homes on DeviantArt and SmackJeeves, and was thought to be gone forever. …that is until I was going through an old flash drive, and found that I had saved the first five or so issues on it.
"Taking place during the The Roaring ‘20s, it stars Prince Daniel Masters, heir to the Water Kingdom of Dalv. After the events of the Great War, his father, the King Vlad has tried to preserve peace and alliance with the other nations.
Unfortunately that’s interrupted by the aptly named Chaos Order who are on the search for the Seven Crystals that hold untold powers to those who utilize it. Along for the ride is Phantom, a mysterious denizen who wants Vlad for himself (whom he deems his “papa”) by creating a world of Nothingness. Naturally, Danny can’t have that. After all, if the world is destroyed, then how can he rule it?"

This long-term webcomic has been a true labor of love adapting ideas I've had floating around in my brain since first watching Danny Phantom in 2022 and developing my belief that the third season would have made an extremely compelling backdrop for a cheese melt plotline. There are three dvd cases on the floor. One cakebox case and two binder cases
Tucker is wearing Timberlands. The aglets have fallen off so he tied the ends into knots to stop them from fraying.
One of Danny’s shoelaces is untied. It’s not a stylistic choice, he just doesn’t really care to retie it.
All of them still have shoes on because they always forget to take them off once indoors, at least at Danny’s house. In my mind, Danny could come home from school and just be doing whatever at home for hours until he realizes his shoes are still on.
Tucker is wearing an “eat sleep game repeat shirt”
Danny has a rocket ship lamp and coin bank. (You can’t really tell it’s a coin bank but who cares)
Danny’s shirt is based on Fun Danny’s shirt in Identity Crisis. It isn’t exactly the same, but that was the idea.
They’re supposed to be a bit older here, like 17 or so. Which explains Sam’s slightly new look. Did that cause she canonically changed her look pretty frequently in comparison to the other two before the events of the show.
