I do not care about your trauma that was inflicted by your parents who built the machine or protecting you from your parents who inflict trauma upon you every single day until the end of your natural life. Being a ghost means she's finally noticed be their parents.

She finally gets to be the center of her parents world. Her need to be seen and to be wanted is all that matters now. She wants parental attention, a reason to be worried about, the sense of urgency Danny has when he runs off to fight ghosts, and above all importance.

She isn't a carbon copy of Danny since she suffers from ghost envy. Ghost envy as we seen during Reality Trip was deprivation.

When Jazz finally becomes a halfa she wants to be the child their parents rush towards instead being the one they assume is fine.

Maddie and Jack are so absent from their own children's lives they were able to get away with it hiding the fact their son was harmed by their own invention.

I wouldn't be too keen on letting my daughter hang around them either.

Imagine if Sam was inside that portal and she set it off while she was still inside of it. They would sue the ever loving fuck out the Fentons if they found out what happened.

When Butch is just really writing Maddie and Jack as sitcom parents in a supernatural cartoon.

A lot of the stuff is just nonsense.

This is a Nickelodeon cartoon do you really think it was going to be super serious? Well researched? Trauma aware?

The show has none of these things. Nothing is emotionally realistic it's like everyone forgot about how he wrote The Fairly OddParents. So Danny dies in the portal accident. It's not like they bother to change anything, they don't protect him, they don't investigate, they don't worry, they don't do anything.

Family dynamics are nonsense, the therapy is nonsense, the portal accident is nonsense, a lot of things he wrote were nonsense.

It's too fictional, too goofy, too poorly researched, it's too Butch Hartman remember. Remember the guy who made the cartoon?

Spectra isn't a therapist > Jazz is shit at trying to become a real therapist

Jazz isn't emotionally literate. Danny was never attending therapy when all those kids in Casper High were shoved in Spectra's office. The school was never offering therapy. The writers don't understand therapy at all.

Therapy was just Spectra's disguise remember? She needed to feed off of those teenagers misery so of could she could at least pretend to get away with being a shit school counselor. It was just a plot device, the counselor's office was just a setting. Nothing about Spectra resembles real therapy. Nothing about Jazz resembles real therapy either. Nothing about Danny's 'sessions' resembles real therapy.

Spectra was just a ghost feeding off of teenagers misery in a room labeled counselor.

That's the thing about My Brother's Keeper and Spectra. Spectra was never a of satire of therapy. She was never even a critique of bad therapy. Spectra was never a commentary on teen mental health. She isn't even a parody of self-help culture.
