I think a major factor in me separating my aromantic and asexual identities from one another is the fact that romance simply doesn't exist in my perception, logically I know that other people feel it so they're not making it up but for me it's like a sense that I don't have and no matter how well someone explains what it's supposed to feel like I will never grasp it because it does not exist to me, whereas sex is just another activity that I am aware of but have no interest in taking part in, like a sport that I know is popular but does nothing for me
