We tried Wizard Burial Ground from @breweryvivant which is a bourbon barrel aged Belgian quad. Wow, this is a great beer - deliciously decadent. It is malty and trends sweet, like a good quad, with elements of toffee, raisins, and dates. I recommend one glass because of it's deceptively smooth taste and 10% ABV. A nice supper on a false Spring afternoon! This Farmhouse Saison was designed by @bemidjibrewing for the American Homebrewers Association's Big Brew Day in conjunction with Upstream Homebrewers. In other words, BBC brewed the base and Upstream members took 5th gallons to tweak to their own specs and taste. I added the juice and zest of two lemons and an orange, as well as a trace amount of allspice and cloves to the secondary. It fermented for two months! Wow, it was worth it. BBC provided this description for the brew - "Glowing Haze, Light, Refreshing, Peppery, Lemon, Spice" - and that pretty much nails what I ended up with. @momma.vice and I are tasting the spruce tip beer/wine we bottled a couple weeks ago. It's lightly carbonated, dry, and refreshing. It has a citrusy aroma, like bitter orange. The taste is slightly sweet, citrusy, and hard to describe, maybe spruce, but definitely not piney.
