Ok hear me out. The best part of revenge and making someone horrible pay is having them recognize that they brought it upon themselves, right? The best bad karma is when someone's own actions bring about their downfall, and they know it.

So what if Morningsky starts to fade? She's being forgotten in the living world. She no longer has connections there, and she realizes that she doesn't have connections in the Dark Forest, either. She's fading. It may take a long time--years, maybe decades, but the fact is still there: she is disappearing. There will one day be nothing left of her. And she realizes that she doesn't even have anyone to hold onto. She ruined every meaningful relationship. Her own kits hate her for what she did to them, that is if they even think about her at all.

She only has so much time left, but its time spent alone, able to do nothing but contemplate and think about all that has brought her to this point. She probably ignores it at first, blames them, blames anyone but herself, tries to ignore the fear and make more connections and make everything okay.

But she can't.

She can't because she's the problem.

Eventually, maybe after the years, maybe after the decades, when she's nothing but a faint whisp, she knows it all too well. She will disappear into nothing and no one will mourn her, or even know that she faded away. And it's all her own fault.

Maybe instead of simply being born without a leg, Woodkit had amniotic band syndrome (where the umbilical cord wraps around a limb in utero, requiring amputation once the baby is born) and the leg that was wrapped fell off around one moon old

Meanwhile Morningsky just assumed that Saltkit was a late bloomer - it was only around when he was one moon old when she finally realized that his eyes would never open... because he didn't have any eyes to open in the first place

also Goldenkit witnessed every second of their abandonment and all three siblings were crying out for each other :))))))))))))

Came up with a name for the sire of Morningsky's kits :333

I don't know what he did to end up in the Dark Forest or what he looks like (though I did mention that Woodkit, a black smoke tabby, and Saltkit, a lynx point, both get their genetics from him, so I imagine it's some combination of those two) so if anyone wants to come up with a profile and design for him, feel free! I'm too busy playing Deltarune I mean working on Ferretfrost and Shrikeshade to work on a profile for him 😅

when Goldenkit comes out to Morningsky as trans, she slashes him on the muzzle, completely destroying his nose and leading to him having no sense of smell

she wasn't a great parent to Goldenkit in the first place, but that was the last straw and is what causes Goldenkit to run away

I imagine Goldenkit was five moons old when it happened

he's lost, scared, and sad. Everything is muddy and everywhere is dark. He thinks he'll be alone forever.

Woodkit is a black smoke tabby, while Saltkit is a lynx point

Meanwhile Goldenkit looks EXACTLY like Morningsky. I imagine Morningsky would have wanted only daughters and not sons, so maybe another reason why she abandoned Woodkit and Saltkit but kept Goldenkit was because Goldenkit was the only girl in the litter... or so she thought...

so maybe multiple of the kits were born disabled and that's why she abandoned them?

I'm thinking Woodkit is the one missing a leg and Saltkit was born without eyes

and then just to completely rub it in Goldenkit comes out as trans later on LMAOOOOOOOO
