ive been uh- rewatching aphmau and um i may or may not have started two fics- on an old website i was a part of?

Toxic contains two OCS, and it’s really fun to write, since I’m writing it with an old friend.

So me and my parents just made a bet that, if this post gets 750,000 notes, I can have a pet bird!

I don’t really consider myself a writer, but I just kind of jotted this down on a whim because it seemed really cute to me.  This is the sort of bonding moment I wish we’d seen happen between them in the series. I still feel like their dynamic - whether romantic or platonic - was never fully explored and there was just a lot of missed opportunity for character growth.

Anyway, I didn’t write this to gripe about S8 (Lord knows there’s enough of that already,) I just really wanted to explore these two characters and their relationship a bit better to learn what makes them tick. They really contrast each other beautifully, and I feel like they could have helped each other grow a lot - and maybe still can, who knows? I may/not decide to turn this into a short comic later on, but for now, I’m just gonna post a small summary of the idea itself (script style, because it’s more comfortable for me, personally.) 

So without further ado, a script of a scene I made for fun and healing:

I watched the ending and honestly believed it wasn’t that bad, there was more good then bad in it… and while some things I didn’t agree with, it was still an interesting season finale…

Best part was, most pairings were left open ended! Except for two characters (Shiro & Allura) So besides people being upset about alluras death, I figured it wouldn’t be to bad, almost every shipping group could go home happy knowing their pairing was left open to interpretation…and there is always alternate Universe AU’s! I mean, we didn’t see Allura from other Universes there at that moment! So there is boud to be those where she lives!

And then I got on tumblr…. and saw all the chaos…. and I got annoyed…

You have actual fans out there calling people like the writers or the company things like racist, abusers, haters, and so much more…. it was disgusting… what happened to the supportive fanbase when the show first started?

So I sat back and had some time to think, while I avoided most of the discourse…on how I wanted to write/respond to this clusterfuck. Because there is something that… irks me so much with this current fanbase, that I just had to point it out.

While there are many types of fans out there….there is… a particular group of fans out there don’t just criticize but demonize and threaten the writers of Voltron…

Which is, as lance said, ‘No Bueno’…

And sadly… many of those fans that do this also read/write fanfics or fanart.

So to those fans… and even those that are upset…. answer me this…..

How many of you read, wrote, or have drawn an Angst theme AU or something in Voltron….

And how many of you praised those who produced those ‘Angst’ materials…

How many of you gush over ‘langst’?

A good deal of you I bet…

I know I’ve seen plenty… hell, we have a category called LANGST!!!

And now you have a series that does just that in cannon….

ARENT YOU BEING A BIT HYPOCRITICAL~🎶?

And now I’m worried….

Because those same hypocritical fans…. are going over to the She-ra fandom….

I wonder what will happen when the show runners don’t pair Adora up with Glimmer or Catra….

I wonder how long it will take those very same fans….to turn on She-ra and it’s writers and producers because it didn’t go the way those fans wanted it to…

Think on that why don’t you…

And many of you will get upset at me, some of you will yell, rant and rave, and some of you may even threaten…but let me tell you this, you can yell at me all you want, I understand why a lot of you are upset, I’ve seen in person how bad things were in the past when it comes to race and lgbtq+, and not just from watching others but I myself have experienced true prejudice and hatred aimed at me… there is nothing you can say that will hurt me….

but a good deal of you are taking things WAY out of proportions…

These are children’s shows, not shows aimed at teenagers…. Most children, do not care, nor comprehend what it means to be in a ‘romantic relationship’…nor what a ‘ship’ even is…

They do not comprehend your Morals and what you see as ‘manipulation’ all they see, is things like lions being piloted by boys and girls of all sorts of ages and races, and the show even brings up many other things, for example, what it’s like to be alone, what it’s like to lose a parent, what it’s like to be the ‘third wheel’, what it feels like to be picked on and made fun of, what it’s like when it feels like there is nobody to support you…and in its own way, why racism, hatred, and bullying is wrong, and what to do with those situations… good examples of bad things are things like Allura when she finds out about Keith being half galra, the animosity and fighting between Keith and James, Pidge being picked on at school, Keith losing his father, and Liefsdottir with the lunch room scene…. and we saw the results and actions that happened after those scenes…

And those that only watched the first and last episodes….need to go back and watch the whole thing and judge the show then…. don’t judge the whole because of a few small bad things that happen that you didn’t like.

Some of you are upset that Allura died, I am too, but atleast she saved everyone, the main thing about Voltron, is that they are all about doing what they must to save people no matter what it takes…no matter the cost….and there were plenty of close calls in the show….and some not so close calls, everyone forgets that we already lost people in the show!!! Hell, I’m still upset over Ulaz, Thace, and Antok! Let’s not forget Adam!!! But that shit happens….doesn’t matter what your age, race, or color is…

And for those in the Lgbtq+ group, Atleast the gays weren’t portrayed as villains! And while the lesbians were kinda portrayed in that way at parts, they became hero’s in the end… that’s the least I could of asked for growing up…

But again….my point is….

It’s not so black and white

And Allura wasn’t the only one to die…

And quite honestly…. we need more shows like voltron… too many people just stand there and let others hurt someone and do nothing to help.

Kids need to see these situations, good or bad, and know when and how they should help, when and how they should stand up for their beliefs, and the very risks that come with it.

But again… it’s a kids show, it’s meant to teach through example….

And you haters…. are ‘not’ being good examples….
