“Can we just ask Mom if we can meet on Saturday?” he asks carefully, not wanting to seem like a petulant child or to start unnecessary shit with Ilya. Ilya drops his phone on his chest so he can give Shane his full attention. “Why?” he asks.

“I told you already.” Shane says, not wanting to elaborate anymore than he already has—frankly, he’s a little annoyed that it seems he has to spell it out for Ilya.

Ilya cocks his head to the side as if in deep thought: brow furrowed, lips curling into a smile. “You want to be alone,” he says slowly as he starts to sit up and move over to Shane’s side of the couch. Shane’s face shows a slight scowl accompanying a deep pink blush under his freckles. “Yes,” he exhales, finally confident Ilya understands what he wants, what he needs.

“We can be alone,” Ilya purrs as he moves to cover Shane’s body and lays a soft kiss on his lips. “After we have lunch with Mom and Dad,” he says, smirking as he brackets Shane’s hips with his knees, and pushes down until his crotch is flush against Shane’s.

“I…” Shane starts but can’t gather his anxious thoughts enough to form a coherent sentence. “I couldn’t sleep,” Shane says quietly, breathing it out over the lake in front of them, into the night sky to settle between the stars shining brightly. “I kept thinking about how I want more.” Ilya rubs soft circles into Shane’s side, feeling the worn Metros t-shirt under his hand. He’s unsure what Shane means by “more” and poses the question, a slight tremor in his voice. “More of what?” He presses a kiss to the top of Shane’s head and smells the lingering scent of his shampoo.

Shane rolls his head to the side to press a kiss to Ilya’s shoulder. “More time,” he whispers into Ilya’s skin.
