Evelyn Morrow always believed that every crime had a reason.
She enrolled in a criminology program with one simple goal: to learn how to find answers where others saw only chaos.
She wasn’t the kind of person who believed in mysticism. For her, people’s disappearances were the result of human mistakes: crimes, accidents, someone’s cruelty or negligence.
That was why the case of the missing children caught her interest.
It had no logical explanation.
The university archive held dozens of old cases that were considered closed. Most of them were ordinary investigations: runaways, abductions, accidents.
But one case stood out from the rest.
A series of child disappearances that had occurred in different cities over several decades.
The children did not have a common place of residence.
The only thing that was repeated in all the documents was the last places where they were seen:
The outskirts of cities. And the strange drawings found near the sites of the disappearances.
A tall figure without a face.
Evelyn initially decided that it was the work of one person.
Someone’s sick fascination.
But the dates disproved that theory.
Some of the drawings were made years before the advent of modern records on the internet.
Some witnesses had never even contacted each other. But the description remained the same.
A tall man in a black suit, a blank face, abnormally long arms.
The name that appeared only in the oldest and strangest records:Slender Man.
The more Evelyn studied the case, the less it resembled an ordinary investigation.
The archives contained photographs of crime scenes.
Some of the images showed nothing.Just trees, fog, an empty road.
But after a few days, Evelyn noticed something strange. In several photos, the same silhouette was visible in the distance.
She zoomed in on the image again and again.
Each time, the figure was too blurred to make out.
But clear enough to understand:
Evelyn checked the metadata of the photos.
Some of the images were taken before the official investigation began.
Some were added to the archive after the cases had been closed, and one file didn’t exist in the system at all.
It only appeared on her computer.
The photo showed a forest.
The same forest where the first child on the list disappeared.
In the background, there was a tall figure, and in the corner of the image, there was a date.
A date that hadn’t happened yet.
After that, Evelyn began keeping a personal diary.
She recorded every detail, every piece of evidence she found, every oddity.
But after a few days, she noticed a problem.
Entries appeared in the diary that she didn’t remember making. Her handwriting, her pen, her notebook.
But she hadn’t written those words.
Some pages were filled with warnings.
Some with meaningless repetitions of the same name.
And on one page, there was only one phrase:
“Don’t look for what has already found you.”
After the investigation began, Evelyn stopped sleeping properly. She constantly dreamed of the same forest.
Evelyn stood among the trees, surrounded by a thick fog.
She never saw how she got there.
The dream always started from the moment when she was already there, and then a silhouette appeared.
It never moved, but each time it seemed to get closer.
But the distance didn’t change.
It was as if the forest itself was drawing her closer to it.
The final moment of the dream was always the same.Evelyn felt something tightening around her neck.
She would wake up in a panic,
with the feeling of a foreign presence nearby.
The first few times, she convinced herself that it was just nightmares.
But one morning, she found red marks on her neck. They looked like fingerprints.A few hours later, they disappeared as if they had never been there.
After that, reality began to gradually unravel.
Evelyn started hearing strange sounds:Rustling in an empty room,
Quiet interference, resembling the noise of an old TV.
She began to notice a silhouette in the distance,
In the window of a neighboring building,
In the reflection of a mirror.
Sometimes on the screen of a turned‑off phone.
Every time she saw it in the reflections on her face, she would start scratching her face in panic, but when she raised her eyes to the reflections, the mask was no longer there. Only scratches on her face.
A few weeks after the investigation began, Evelyn’s dorm room burned down.
The official cause was a wiring fault.
But the firefighters found something strange.
The fire didn’t start in one place.
The ignition points were in different parts of the room.
It was as if someone had tried to destroy specific things. Her notes had burned.
After the fire, Evelyn disappeared for several days.
When she was found, half of her face was covered in burns.
She didn’t explain what had happened.
She only continued the investigation.
Later, photographs that were never supposed to exist ended up in the archive. They featured Evelyn, but the photos were taken long before she was born.
She was standing near the places where children had disappeared.
Sometimes next to children who later went missing.
She couldn’t explain how this was possible.
The last entry about Evelyn was found in her apartment.
She was going to return to where it all began.
To the place where the last child disappeared.
an old diary, a pistol, a dagger,
photos of unknown origin.
On the last page of the diary, a date was written.
“If I come back, it means I was wrong. If not, it means I’ve been part of the matter all along.”
After that, Evelyn Morrow went missing.
The police found the forest a few days later.
There were no clues. They didn’t even find any footprints of hers.
It was as if Evelyn had never been there.
The only item found was a photograph.
It showed a girl in a mask.
Standing among the trees.
A few months after Evelyn’s disappearance, new evidence began to emerge.
People claimed they had seen the girl near the sites of new disappearances.
A strange symbol around her neck.
She simply appeared before people disappeared.
Just as the silhouette from the old cases had once appeared.
The Evelyn Morrow case remains open.
In official documents, she is listed as missing, but among those who study disappearances, her name has become the same as the name of the creature she was trying to find.
Some believe she became a victim.
Some believe she went insane.
Some believe she found the answer.
But there is one detail that no one can explain.
In all new cases, the same photograph appears near the locations of the disappearances.
Standing next to a tall, faceless figure.
And on the back of the photo, there is always one inscription:
“The investigation continues.”
Status: Missing in action
Later: Proxy of the Slender Man
Weapon: semi-automatic pistol in a hip holster and an army dagger.
The main weapon is a criminal dagger, a Makarov pistol.
They symbolize her past: she used to search for criminals, but now she herself has become the one they should be searching for.
The dagger is not used haphazardly — Evelyn acts coldly and calculatingly. She studies a person in advance, as if preparing a real investigation:
she gathers information about the victim,
creates an “archive”.
She doesn’t just choose a victim — she creates a story around them.
Evelyn starts with observation.
The victim may not even know that they have become a target.
But gradually, strange things start to appear:
photos of the person that they never took,
pages from someone else’s file in their home,
their personal belongings moved to other places,
notes with dates that haven’t happened yet.
The person begins to think they’re going crazy.
And this is precisely Evelyn’s main weapon.
She makes the victim feel the same way she herself felt during the investigation of Slender Man.
Evelyn almost never appears without a mask during a hunt.
The peculiarity is that people often see her not directly, but through reflections:
Because of this, a legend has emerged that if a person sees Evelyn’s mask, it means they have already become part of her “business.”
When the victim is already psychologically broken, Evelyn appears in person.
She doesn’t scream, doesn’t threaten, and doesn’t try to look scary.
She behaves like an investigator.
For her, it’s not murder.
It’s a “closure of the case.”
After that, she leaves the crime scene as if it were an official archive:
a photograph of the victim,
the proxy symbol of Slenderman.
But the most chilling thing is that sometimes she leaves a photograph where the victim is already standing next to her.
Although the photo was taken before they met.
After each murder, Evelyn records the new case in her old diary.
But after some time, she herself begins to find entries there that she doesn’t remember making.
“Case No. 17 is closed.”
Although she doesn’t remember who she killed under that number.
Because of this, even she doesn’t always understand:
Is she really carrying out Slender Man’s will?
Or has she long since lost control and is just continuing her investigation, which will never end?
