That night had haunted Buffy Summers for the last few months.

It felt like an eternity since she had been brought back to life, back to this disastrous world that was filled with bright lights and pain. It had all started with clawing her way out of her grave, and now, she couldn’t move on from what had happened to her.

It wasn’t like this was the first time that she had died. Perhaps she was going for a record; the slayer that died and was constantly brought back to life to fulfil her destiny. The errant thought brings a wry smile to her lips as she stands staring outside her window, at the vacant street.

There were things that she needed to be doing, she had responsibilities, a destiny, a life. The things that she had once thought she was passionate about has ceased to exist for her. 

She could remember back when she first came to Sunnydale, how she shirked her responsibilities as the slayer, how she fought against it as hard as she could. She wanted to live her life, she didn’t want to die young and to spend every evening in the graveyard.
