Peak Week
1:23am. As I begin to write this, I realize how late it is but then again I always write at this time. I was about to go to sleep since I am planning to wake up early for fasted morning cardio but something about a quick write before bed makes me happy. It is nice to do something that makes you happy, I highly recommend it. There's a lot of things in life that we have to do, make sure at least one thing about your day is something that you want to do.
Peak Week. Before I began my prep for the muscle contest I always wondered what that meant, all I knew was people got really excited for it. Peak week is basically the home stretch, the last week of a person's prep. The last week to fine tune and get ready to step on stage. I cannot believe my peak week is already here! Where has the last 12 weeks gone? It seriously is such a mind F when I sit and think about it. Lol. When you are doing something you enjoy, time does go by rather quickly. 12 weeks, hundreds of hours in the gym and kitchen, thousands of dollars- all for this one day. This journey has definitely been very fulfilling, I have learned a lot and will further discuss that in tomorrow's post.
This past weekend was rather insane for me; from my last posing and training session with my team to pageant duties and family get togethers. There was a lot going on and I tried my best to be everywhere even though I was tired. Today sure did test me, I think it was a test from the fitness Gods! So after my gym session this morning, I sat in my car to charge my phone using the USB cable connected to my car. I spent too much time charging it that I drained my car battery and my car wouldn't start! I called Lexus roadside assistance and they told me someone would come in an hour to jump my car, so then I called my friend to come help me. All in all I sat in that parking structure for almost 3 hours. The worst part of it all was that I was starving after fasted cardio but I kept my composure. Through this process I learned that above all else: it is mind over matter. The less stress I place on my mind about the problem, the less the problem really is. Don't make a big deal over something little that can be fixed, it will just make you unhappy. After my car got a jump I went to Costco and Albertsons to do my grocery shopping: bad idea on a Sunday-it was a zoo! Got home and spent two and a half hours meal prepping then went back to the gym at 10pm for round 2.
Today did not go accordingly to plan, I lost three hours of my day but at the end of the day as I sit here all I can think about is that I still got everything that I needed to do completed. Life does not always go according to plan, things happen. A bad situation does not have to make it a bad day and it sure as hell does not mean that you have a bad life. You reap what you sow. You reap positive, you sow positive.Β
The old Anne probably would've gone on FB or Twitter and ranted about how my car battery died, how I lost hours in my day, blah blah blah. Oh how I do not miss her. Lol. Shit happens. We just have to learn to deal with it. no need to throw a pity party. It is now Monday, a new day for us to create. How do you want to spend it? What goals do you have for today? For this week? Do not forget to challenge your mind daily, never become complacent.Β 5 days out.Β Anne
The Little Things
The saying may sound cliche but it honestly is so true. It really is the little things that matter. As busy and stressed out at times these past months, I make sure that I always count my blessings at the end of each day. Sometimes amongst the hustle and bustle of it all, we lose grasp of ourselves, we find ourselves unhappy, stressed, etc. Yet if we just took a deep breath, we will see that things are not as bad as we think they are. There is always somebody out there in the world having it worst than you. I make sure that I keep that in mind if I begin to get down on myself or complain about something irrelevant.Β Having a positive support system honestly does wonders in life! No matter what I am going through, I know that I can always count on my loved ones. As I go after my goals in life, I am truly thankful to have people who unconditionally love and support me. Even when I am tired, stressed, cranky, emotional; they are still there. Surrounds yourself with those who want you to be the best you possible, those who want you to succeed, those who tell you what you need to hear and not what you want to hear.
The photos above look just like a meal and a box of oatmeal but to me it is a sign of support and care. My client Victoria brought me a meal tonight which was very much appreciated! And my teammate Ti surprised me with a box of oatmeal when I found out I could have carbs and didn't have any on me. It really is the little things that mean most to me, it shows me that they care about my goals and want to help me succeed.Β From sending daily progress pictures to him to him comforting me when I am not in a good mood, my boyfriend Robby has been an amazing supporter. Times when I need that pick me up, he is always there for me. I know that it has not been easy these past months while I am on prep but I am thankful that I am with someone who wants to be in a relationship with me just as much as I want to be in a relationship with them. He eats clean with me and tries his best to make me happy. Honestly, that's all that I could ever ask for: someone who tries for me. Three years later and he is still trying his best daily. Mahal kita my love.
As we all strive towards our goals in life, please always remember to take the time out of your day to acknowledge all of the blessings you have and all of the supportive and loving people in your life. A simple thank you goes a long way, after all..it is the little things that matter most. Anne
Late Night Thoughts
1:54am. Night owl? Absolutely.
After leaving the mortgage company I was working for, I spent a lot of nights staying up late thinking about what I am going to be doing with my future. Fast forward a year and I am still up late thinking about what I am going to be doing with my future. I literally am always thinking about the future, some may say why not focus on the present. Well, I do; however I always like staying ahead and not getting too comfortable with where I am at in life.Β
I am about to turn 26 in a little over a month. From HS to 22, if you asked me where I would be at 26 I would definitely say I would be engaged and ready to start a family. Throughout the years my mindset about marriage has definitely evolved and I think there should not be an age where you "should get married". When two people are ready and financially able to, then I think that's the best time. I don't feel like I am in a rush to get married because those around me are getting married and having kids. I am perfectly happy with my relationship and I am thankful that we share the same views. I really want to be established before I even think about getting married and having children. I want to travel the world. I want to enjoy my mid/late 20's to the fullest before taking on parental responsibilities. I want to be selfish with my life. My very close girlfriend Chary and I had talks about life and when she told me she wanted to be selfish I was like: wtf. But now I get it. Now that I have found my passion, I want to go after it and fulfill all the goals that I have set out for myself. Growing up I think that we as females are supposed to look at marriage and children as a top goal for ourselves that sometime we overlook the potentials that we have due to chasing this goal. I definitely feel as if I have tapped more into my feminist side as I have gotten older and it has been such an empowering feeling! I am truly grateful to have strong, positive, hard working and empowering women in my life. Women of character who see more than meets the eye.Β So where will I be 5 years from now? I will be 30. (TIME FREAKING FLIES!) -I definitely plan on having my own business, I want to open up my own training facility. -Engaged, if not married to Robby. -Have our own home. Being a homeowner is a top priority to me. -Established myself in the fitness industry. -Still sharing my passions in life with the world.
I think about these things often and I wanted to give you a different glimpse into my life. I know that I post about fitness but I do want to inspire the younger generation to think ahead and to go after their goals. Never ever settle for a paycheck to paycheck lifestyle for the rest of your life. There are opportunities out there if you strive to obtain them and remember when one door closes, another will open. Think ahead, think outside the box. Dare to challenge your mind. Anne
The Journey Continues
Hi everyone!Β I cannot believe it has been since August since I have last written a blog! For those who have continued to follow my journey on Facebook and IG, thank you! I was trying to figure out a way to keep you all updated with my life and my fitness journey/goals; but to be honest I haven't done as much as I have wanted to besides IG. I definitely have missed writing, it really is such an amazing outlet. I know that my captions on IG are long at times which is why I have been trying to make the time to get back into blogging. To be honest, I suck at web design! It nearly took me a good hour to change my domain name. Google sure does wonders, there is so much information at our fingertips! I wanted to change my domain because I wanted this blog to be about me, not a domain name of femmefitness. Although it does have meaning to me, at the end of the day it is not who I am. Anne Phung is who I am. I don't want you guys to know me by an alias, I want you to know me for me.
So where have I been? Well these past 11 weeks I have been working relentlessly in preparation for my first show as well as building my business as a personal trainer. Β I never thought that I would be an entrepreneur but here I am at 25 running my own business, setting my own schedule and bringing in my own clients. It is such an empowering feeling to wake up knowing that my life is in my hands and that I get to do what I love for a living. Future post about getting to where I am at now to come. It's currently 12:42am right now and it has been a draining day so I better get some rest. I have cardio at 7am tomorrow, hurray for hill sprints! Blogging again really excites me, I have so much to share with you all! Stay tuned for I will be posting daily now.Β As always, thank you so much for your kind support! Anne

Hi everyone! I created a FB page solely for my fitness journey, client updates and my preparation for my competition. I'm going to be posting on there more frequently and taking a break from Tumblr as I am working to create a personal webpage. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me on FB :) Talk soon and thank you all very much for the continuous support!! My charity bootcamp is THIS Sunday the 10th at 11am, I hope to see you there!<3
Hi Anne (: so happy to see how far you've come and I can't wait to witness all your hard work and achievements while getting ready for your first fitness competition! I was curious to know if you are taking any supplements and do you recommend taking anything specifically? Thank you in advance if you ever answer (:
Hi Anon! Thank you so much, I really appreciate the support! :)Β Yes I am taking supplements, will list them for you:Protein: Dymatize ISO-100 in Orange Dreamsicle flavor. I have tried about 7 different types of protein brands and this is hands down my favorite! I have been using ISO-100 since January and plan on staying with it :)Β BCAA's:Β I take Modern BCAA's. It tastes great, helps me with muscle recovery and gives me that extra focus.Pre-workout: I have C4 but I don't use it too often anymore, I am in my cycling phase for it. It's a good kick though! I received samples of Roxy Lean and Syndrex and they are great energy pills but VERYYYY strong. If you are caffeine sensitive, I would not recommend taking them at all.Β That's the only supplements I take for now as well as a multivitamin. Keeping it simple on my body and my wallet because everyone knows that supplements add up!Β Take care!Anne
I thought your before and after pic post was going to be one of those stupid "I went on this cleanse! Look at me now" posts! But it wasn't! I really appreciated how you wrote that you weigh more when you gain muscle! So important! You look fierce girl xx π
Thank you girl! I really appreciate the love! I honestly do not believe in any of those quick fixes: teas/wraps/etc because I feel like businesses prey on individuals looking for a change. There are changes that may happen but it's only short term. What I am trying to show people especially young women is that you have to work on have a healthy lifestyle for the rest of your life. Everyone has different goals, some just want to be able to walk/run a mile, some want abs, some want strong shoulders. At the end of the day, the best advice I can recommend to anyone is to eat healthier and be active daily. Anyhow, have a great Monday! :)Xo,Anne
@tiphan_j2fit and I stopped by the LVFT warehouse today to get raffle prizes for our charity bootcamp next Sunday!π LVFT's CEO @randall_livefit will be there to support.πππ Please send an email titled: Charity Bootcamp RSVP to [email protected] (two i's), we want to accommodate as many as possible so bring yourself, your family and friends!π Looking forward to meeting everyone and doing something amazing together for a great cause!β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ
#flashbackFriday and #FlexFriday at the same damn time! So obviously I didn't use to lift.π Left pic: 110lbs Right: 140lbs. Reasons why: 1) I didn't know how. 2) I didn't want to look "buff and/or manly." Lack of knowledge honestly is the biggest downfall when it comes to fitness, we always judge and assume what we do not know. These past two years of my new lifestyle has opened my mind up tremendously about fitness, weight lifting, image, what defines femininity, and so much more. Being active, eating healthier, and lifting weight has changed my life for the better.πππ Seeing my body progress and the judgment I've gotten from the older Asian community honestly fuels me to break stereotypes of what beautiful means for a woman. We do not need to fit anyone's mold; we can be however we choose to be for it is OUR body. Your health, body and life are in YOUR hands. You cannot change the past but you can sure as hell work hard on your present to create your future.π―

Hi everyone! Hope you're all doing amazing. My apologies for not posting on here as often. I've been so busy with my business, training and now prepping for my show. I post on IG daily so you can always catch me there and on Twitter as well. Thanks for all the messages, I really appreciate them!!! For those seeking help, tips, meal plans, rates, and so forth; please email me: [email protected]. I try to respond as quickly as I can. Tomorrow I will be answering the top 5 questions I receive and go into detail. Hopefully it will help you guys! With fitness my best advice for everyone is to work hard and have discipline. Sounds simple but it's hard to follow. If you really want something bad enough, you will work for it and strive until you achieve it. There's two choices: make progress or make excuses. The choice is up to you! We are all young and capable of being the best versions of ourselves. Don't let life pass you by, don't settle for average. We are all our own legends. Catch ya tomorrow! Anne
During prep, eating is definitely crucial. I've been eating healthier for the past 2 years but I've never been as strict as I am now with prep. Seriously to all those who have done it, ya'll the real MVP's!!! πππ Prep is NOT for the weak minded at all. It's been hard not to stuff my face with carbs so this right here is the best invention for carb lovers!πππ Made myself ground turkey patties with cucumber "pasta" sautΓ©ed in a little coconut oil, salt free tomato sauce, and @flavorgod Garlic Lovers seasoning. You do what you gotta do! Not letting this prep make me its bitch, I'm gonna make it mine!π―ππ
I'm VERY happy and excited to announce that I will be competing in my first fitness competition!ππͺπ I have had this goal on my mind for a solid year now but wanted to make sure I completed my goals of becoming a certified personal trainer and setting up my business first. I'm very honored to have Ms. Jenny Worth @worthitfitness as my coach and be a part of #teamworthit.πππ I'm excited for the entire journey and ready to give it my all.π― Thank you to everyone who's been so supportive of my fitness journey! Special thank you to my love @_robbyπ«, @myshelleeee @raivyquach @charypie @tiphan_j2fit.π Can't wait to share this next chapter with ya'll!πππ
My #WCW is my client S.πππ This is her 3 week progress.ππͺ I'm very proud of her transformation not only physically but mentally. She comes in and gives it 100% each time and has made changes in her eating habits which will help her maintain her healthy lifestyle for the long run.β¨ Thank you for letting me be a part of your journey!β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ If you're ready to make that change, email me! I only have a few openings left.π
This is my one month progress update.β¨ These past 4 weeks I've been working hard to hit heavier weights and to be more solid. I'm pretty happy with my progress but still striving for more.π Left picture I was 134lbs, right: 140lbs. Remember, do not let the scale define your progress! Muscle is DENSER than fat.π― First day of Summer is TOMORROW!βοΈπππ I'm taking on new clients for July so please email me if you're ready for a change!ππͺ

I've been craving Mexican corn for months now and have driven by corn people but refused to pull over because I know better than to eat all that mayo and cheese.π πͺ I made a healthy version which taste just as amazing!βΊοΈπ Chobani plain Greek yogurt, @flavorgod garlic lover's seasoning and cayenne chili powder.β¨ Eating healthy never tasted so good!ππ
