I was watching Family Feud the other day and the topic the contestants had to answer was ‘name something that people don’t finish.’ Now, I was naming things I hadn’t finished like cleaning out my car, washing the dishes or putting away my clothes. And I got to thinking, ‘well what don’t people finish? college? pursuing a relationship? reading a book?’ And then it hit me. People don’t finish what they start. For me, it was this blog post. I created this blog about two years ago and I told myself I’d write in it, but I never did. And when I did, it was just a sentence. I could give myself many excuses to why I didn’t keep up with my blog, but the one reason I know is true and I hate to admit is, I was lazy. And who likes a lazy person? Nobody.

So as I sit here house sitting my professor’s house, scowling down Instagram and Twitter it hit me. I no longer want to be a lazy person. I want to finish all the things I started. I want to finish reading that book, I want to finish cleaning out my car, I want to finish (or continue) my blog.

So this is where I start, taking baby steps. One day at a time.
