Every single one of these “Millennials are killing ____” stories is, at its core, about entitled Boomers and GenXers who can’t understand (or refuse to attempt to understand) why Millennials, who are living in a world that Boomers and GenXers made *profoundly* unequal, don’t want to waste what little money they have on garbage they don’t need. Then the same Boomers and GenXers get all righteously indignant when Millennials remind them that we (I include myself because I’m GenX) created this situation, and they’re just trying to survive and do what’s best for them, which is often at odds with being good little consumers. Keep fixing these headlines and correcting these stories, because too many of us refuse to hear you.

This is important.
