it gets to a point with Taylor Swift hate…. If your reaction to finding out she got TikTok to change their policy (!!!) to allow artists to request that their songs be removed for unauthorized use in ads or political campaigns (after months of the Trump admin trying and failing to bait a reaction out of her for attention) is some version of “why didn’t she do this sooner!!!” or “she’s only doing this for PR” then I am blocking you, no questions asked. celebrity snark has rewired your brain for the worse.

So the UK will reroute a fucking Internet cable for a fake grave for a fake elf because a bunch of brain dead nerds through a pissy fit, and meanwhile real actual natives in the US are getting arrested for trying to keep oil sand pipelines from going through their actual graves, holy sites and unceded territory. Burn it all down.

When fandom takes on the trappings of a religion because a bunch of the people in it are lost losers looking for connection and meaning, it can actually be less healthy for these 'seekers' than an established religion due to the lack of immunity and information out there about it, rendering people less likely to bump into substantive criticism about the coercive power and evils of charismatic people in cults or fandom or whatever they've chosen to fill that void than say, insert documented established religion or larger cult like scientology here. So nice they've got a holy site or two though. Tremendous.
