'It's too sad, I could never go there' is what a lot of people say to me when I talk about visiting animal shelters in Perth. I have to tell you, it's not sad. I leave with a heart full of hope and meet a bunch of new friends every time, both four legs and two. Shelters aren't sad, they are the halfway point between the past and a really bright future for these pets. Visit one! There is only one problem I should mention - you'll spend the whole drive home trying to figure out if adopting 30 dogs and 50 cats will be just a little more than you can handle... well that's what I do anyway.
