               she hadn’t been expecting him to question her motives.  in fact, him asking why she’d kissed him causes her face to flush an impressive shade of red, if only because she didn’t have any real motive.  it just sort of… felt right.  a primal urge to make her affection for him known in a way that couldn’t be misunderstood.  because words could be so easily twisted but action… action speaks loud and it speaks clear.  the fact that he’d leaned to meet her - that had been loud and clear. 

              ❝ i think you’re cute, ❞ she finally admits, confession whispered between them like it’s some fantastic secret.  she still hasn’t pulled back, leaning across the table with her weight in her elbows,  ❝ and i really like spending time with you.  and i… hope that you do, too. ❞

Oh, she looked absolutely beautiful when she blushed like that. Tensei has to stop himself from leaning in and kissing her again. If only because he was genuinely curious about her answer. Though he had felt something growing between them, he had refrained from pursuing anything due to his current state.

Their age difference alone would have made him hesitate under normal circumstances, but that aside someone like Fuyumi deserved someone that was...whole.

He smiled at her regardless, a faint blush on his own cheeks at the compliment. It’d been a while since anyone had called him ‘cute’ and such a small simple word coming from her affected him more than anything else he’d been called in the past. 

               she moves during a lull in the conversation, weight shifting as she rises to lean across the small table they’re sitting at.  her fingers, already resting over his hand, curl to hold it tighter as she moves, coming to a stop just in front of him.  there’s a moment’s hesitation, as if she’s considering what she’s about to do, before she leans the rest of the way forward, lips brushing over his in the gentlest of kisses.  //  @animaforctis​ gets a kiss!! 

His brows lift subtly when she moves, feeling her hand squeeze his tighter. When she pauses with her face close to his, he inhales sharply, stomach flipping lightly. He starts leaning forward just as she does the same, their lips brushing together for a chaste kiss. 

“He’s a really good kid, Tensei. I’m glad I got to meet him. He was just….really affected by what happened to you. I think he’s come to a better terms with it since.” He smiled. “I’ll do my best to take good care of him while he’s at my agency.” 

“He is a good kid, and I can imagine how he felt after what happened to me, but-” he sighed softly and shook his head. There was no point in getting into it now. What’s done was done.

“Hi Iida, I hope I’m not intruding. I saw one of your sidekicks earlier and they mentioned you were going to be in. Thought I’d stop by and see if you wanted to do lunch?”

He suppresses a laugh. He can’t imagine the young woman doing anything wrong, but he had enough experience to know that it was always the ones you least expected that had a wild side. 

“Oh no! It’s okay! Really. It’s all fine. Things worked out okay and your brother still wants to intern with me.” He reassured the older Iida. “He’s being doing a really good job too, honest. I’m happy to have him at the agency.” 

“He did. I lost sight of him in the chaos and then had to help with the fires. His friends showed up to help him and he did save a hero but….I should have done better.”

He sighs softly. He knows it wasn’t Manual’s fault, but he also knows he’d feel responsible too if he was in Manual’s position. 

“Ah–” He offers a couple of quick bows. “I’m terribly sorry for losing sight of your brother.”
