Ania's Dollhouse

First here are the first 3 pictures I ever took of her, and by extention, first 3 outfits I made for her.

A lot has changed in 5 years. Kami may have been my first doll ever, but Celestina was my true stepping stone into the AG/18-inch doll fandom. She's my fan character for my favorite cartoon band Gorillaz, and that band helped me during my mental health crisis during the pandemic, having Celestina around made me feel hopeful for the future, that we'd get to go on all sorts of adventures.

Anyways, for Gotcha Day, I broke out some snacks I got from a shopping trip shortly after Christmas. Saved them for a special occasion haha. The Oreos were like a raspberry and mixed berry flavor, pretty good, the Lays were a spicy crab boil flavor, it tasted weird at first, but the 2nd chip I ended up loving it haha. We spent time sewing a new dress and watched both Zombieland movies, at her request of course.

Here's the new dress.

This is a Cinderella print, so I made the dress based off the pink dress she had, but incorporated elements of the ballgown she's known for. I wish the print shown up better, it was too big haha. It turned out a lot better in my head, but it still looks cute. While I had that, I decided to put Lucy in a dress I already made.

Lucy, in pink?! But hey, she loves this too since it has the black lace and red accents, and her favorite Disney Princess Snow White. I made this back in spring, and Celestina modeled it, but I really made this in mind for Lucy, and honestly, I think she rocks it beautifully.

I love Caroline’s dresses, but she hardly has any to wear. Here are two I finished this week, based on gowns that were illustrated but never produced by American Girl. 

The lavender work dress with a bib front was seen on the cover of her fourth book, Caroline Takes a Chance. I know the color isn’t the best match but I think the print is. It’s a reproduction of a fabric produced in 1830. I put tiny buttons on the bib and some burgundy ribbon. I modified a Felicity dress pattern to give this a high waist and long sleeves. 

Sierra loves her American Girl doll and has read each and every book, so she and her sisters got the great idea to start an official American Girls Club at their local library. Look at how many of her friends have dolls and love to read!

Sierra’s mom gave her her copy of The American Girls Club Handbook from the late 1990′s. It’s full of ideas to keep their club organized and fun.
