Angie: chuckled when Ruben answered the door, stumbling over his feet and his own words. She quickly moved into the house and shut the door after her before shrugging off her large coat. "Where's my drink?"

Angie: wasn't sure why exactly she'd agreed to this event, probably just because Ruben had allowed her to, and if he wasn't upset with her now she would do anything to keep it that way. She worried, in the back of her mind that a drunk Ruben might have a few more choice words to say to her than sober Ruben would, but she figured the reward was greater than the risk if she could come out the other end feeling like things were okay with them. She knocked on his front door, not sure what exactly waited on the other side but still excited none the less.

Angie: okay pls thanks

Angie: i love you too nerd

Angie: am i allowed to come or do you hate me today

Angie: really ru

Angie: scrunched up her face uncomfortably. "I didn't say..." She trailed off but it was fine since he just kept talking anyway. She felt a deep pang in her chest when his voice faded away and she realized the repercussions of her actions, or lack there of. "I'm sorry, Ruben," she said, the words tearing her up as she forced them out of their mouth. "I just... it was your birthday and it turned blue so I thought it was you immediately you know, but I also just felt dumb for even remembering your birthday after all those years, and like we hadn't spoken or anything. So I told myself it was just this funny coincidence and my soulmate was just gonna have the same birthday as you, yknow. Like, I didn't think I'd ever see you again so there was no way it was gonna be you, but then we moved back and when I saw you again I just kinda knew right away that it must be you but you wouldn't know. And I didn't know how you were going to react. I just thought like, what if you thought it was some kind of sign that we were meant to be together or something and then like things would be weird and I just...." she trailed off as well, gripping the steering wheel in front of her tighter than before. "I'm sorry. I didn't think about what it all felt like for you."

Angie: stayed silent after he gave her the jacket, not sure how to respond to what he was saying, or rather knowing that there was no fair response to any of this, and no way of undoing what she'd already done. "I hadn't..." was all she could manage, letting the sentence just sort of fade away as she continued to look straight ahead. She stopped at a red light and pulled her jacket on quickly. She hadn't considered any of what he was saying. What if that was how he found out they were soulmates, really? If she just died and his mark turned black and that was just all he ever got from her. "September 13th," she said after a while. "The September after I turned sixteen," she verified. "That's when it turned blue."

Angie: gave a very stiff shrug, trying not to show her shoulder again. "Yeah, uh, you know, I haven't really put too much thought into it, really," she said, keeping her eyes focused intently on the road. "Um, yeah, maybe he is. It's just like, not really what I'm focused on right now, I guess," she let out a little breath, her eyesbrows furrowing together as she attempted to keep her thoughts straight. "Uh, yeah, that would be nice, thanks."

Angie: froze for half a moment at the question. In the past two years, she'd grown quite used to the mark, and it was only in recent months that she had taken to hiding it, so she hadn't been thinking when she'd taken off her jacket while hassling with Cricket. "Oh, uh, it's just my mark," she said, attempting to sound nonchalant. "It's kinda cold," she commented, reaching back behind her attempting to find her jacket which she'd discarded in the back seat. "I should put my jacket back on."

Angie: shrugged, letting out a little laugh. "Honestly, I don't think he'd even notice," she told him, honestly. "He's probably gonna be... occupied, even after everyone leaves. Seeing as Brie probably won't be leaving," she gave Ruben a suggestive look before letting out another little laugh, before twisting her whole body around to look over her shoulder as she backed out of the Hollingsworths driveway. "But yeah I can take you back to it."

Angie: made her way back to her car after having spilled Cricket into her bed with the help of Hunter having met her at the door. She wasn't totally psyched at the prospect of being alone with Ruben, but she was mostly thankful that in Cricket's drunkenness she hadn't mentioned Angie's secret about her mark. Still, being alone with the boy always got her nerves up. "Hey," she said, as she climbed back into her seat. "Thanks for your help, really," she told him, not really looking at him. "Do you want me to take you back to KC's so you can get your car? Or do you just want me to take you home?"

Angie: maybe you should talk to her about it.
