They’re referencing civil asset forfeiture, a process by which (essentially) the state can take your stuff if they believe said stuff was involved in a crime and you have to demonstrate that it wasn’t involved in a crime nor was it intended to be involved in a crime (emphasis here; because the item is being charged, not a person, it is guilty until proven innocent).  Depending on whether a judge determine the suspicion was reasonable or not, you may have to pay legal fees to get your stuff back.

this isn’t just about “no straights at pride!” this is about the fact that cis lgb people NEVER acknowledge trans people in their activism and that includes straight trans people. because being het somehow magically means they’re privileged? like hello they’re trans? did you forget transphobia exists? and the way cis gays treat trans gays? it’s abhorrent.

I do. When I’m out there, straight trans men are taken more seriously than I am because straightness is viewed as the default for masculinity, and I constantly face the assumption that if I am attracted to men, I should’ve just “stayed a woman.” Trans men are always assumed to be straight, and are treated better by straight men. Straight men view us as being both frauds and threats, because it’s one thing for a gay man to be into one, but another thing entirely for a “fake man” to be into one.I have to deal with constantly living at the intersection of homophobia and transphobia in a way no straight trans man ever will. Every time I meet a new doctor, I get invasive questions about my sex life that wouldn’t be asked of a straight trans man.
