BEEEEES!!! It’s time to talk about bees!

Bees are a type of insect, known for their fuzzy bodies and black and yellow stripes (though that wouldn’t mean much to you.)

They build a nest called a hive out of beeswax. How bee colonels work is they have a queen bee. The queen gives birth to all the bees. Males stay in the hive to mate, while females are workers who gather pollen and fight and build. If the queen dies, the workers will turn one of the larvae into a queen by feeding it royal jelly.

Despite the queen being called a queen, they don’t function under monarchy. Instead the workers as a group decide what to do, where to move, that stuff!

Bees are also known for their stingers. They have spikes on their backsides which can produce a venom. When they sting, however, it will cause their organs to fall out.

Bees are very important for the environment! They go out and gather pollen from flowers, helping flowers grow in the meantime, and then bring the pollen home for food.

They also gather nectar from the flowers to make honey! A great food source, honey is a sweet and sticky substance that never spoils!

Many people keep bees and harvest their honey, in return keeping the bees safe.

The “BEEEEEES” thing is a reference to a movie where a guy gets a cage full of angry bees put on his head while he screams “NOT THE BEES!” People just found it funny I guess.

You put ice cream in a glass and pour soft drink over it. It creates a thick layer of delicious foam on top of a sweet, creamy drink with ice cream in it.

And yes I did attempt to get a picture by googling “Australia spider” like a fucking moron.

I think that’s called a float in the states. Although we usually plop the icecream into the glass after the soda. Similar effect though.

We wouldn’t be able to call it that because the word is way too easy to confuse with a floater, which is a meat pie floating in a bowl of pea soup. It is every bit as delicious as a spider though. I should get some pies and pea soup.
