photo from the archives because i can’t let this day pass by without trying to put into words how much i love this guy. forever used to be such a scary word. until i walked into luke and forever was the prettiest, most expansive, beautiful word. i really can’t sum up how amazing my husband is. i know a lot of you are lucky enough to know him and know how big his heart is, how selfless and giving of a person he is. in 27 years he’s lived a big life most people can only dream of, but what really blows my mind and what it all boils down to is this: despite it all, he’s good, and kind, and caring, and nurturing. it isn’t easy to be, but he makes it look that way. he inspires me every day to be better, to be more like him. a day isn’t near long enough to celebrate luke so i do it every single day. i’m lucky and blessed and grateful and will forever try to make sure the world knows how special luke is. gah! happy birthday, you. you are so many incredible things and perhaps most mundanely, you are the love of my life. i’ll never take you for granted. i love to see you shine. i can’t wait for all the lifetimes of us. 💘 @hemmingbirdx
