The audacity to be so completely factually wrong about what happens in a show and argue about it. Saw someone say Spike went to get his chip out and not the soul so that he could kill Buffy. Like we didn’t spend an entire season on how Spike could now hurt (and if he wanted to, KILL) Buffy. But no, you know better than the writers, the actors, everyone else, and what literally happened on screen.

ok but do you really think buffy “abandonment issues” summers didn’t feel anything after realizing that unlike every other man in her life, INCLUDING GILES BTW, spike kept his promise and stayed to protect her sister even after she died. the first time she sees him again was when he was bellowing out his concern and frustration to dawn for leaving without telling him.

those feelings didn’t appear because they fucked around. she had sex with him BECAUSE she was attracted and had feelings and that made her feel something. and then she knew she shouldn’t be feeling these things and enjoying these things with a soulless creature. do you think it’s a coincidence that they were bonding and getting close and the times she kissed him were pivotal episodes where he proved his devotion to her? saving her from burning in OMWF, being randy and joan in Tabula Rasa etc. yes, she was also depressed and her situation made her want to forget, but she chose HIM because he could make her feel!

#reading views of Intervention like damn #ya’ll really only care about the literal most surface level text of what’s happening on screen #the sex bot is incredibly gross and violating and also hilarious shenanigans ensue #he’s an evil soulless vampire grow up #and it also like has a point… it’s such a deep episode of character growth for both Buffy and Spike #sometimes plot choices happen in service of the THEMES #she feels like she’s become cold and unloving like a robot and then a robot version of her gets made and her friends can’t even tell #she’s rightfully disgusted and goes to kill Spike to protect her sister #and instead she finds out he was willing to die to protect Dawn #and that moves her #she can feel- she isn’t a robot she has so much love in her that in that moment she was able to feel and express it for a soulless vampire #and spike finally shows her that he loves her in a way that feels real to her #she says she won’t forget it #and she doesn’t!#it bleeds into their interactions for the rest of season 5 and it’s why she has feelings for him already beginning of season 6 #do people really think that her feelings came out of nowhere #like if it was Xander instead? idc Buffy at no point in their relationship #including when he had unrequited feelings for her that she knew of- would it have occurred to her to KISS HIM ON THE MOUTH as a thank you #btvs #spuffy

i do very much like the very early s3 episodes before angel comes back that show buffys guilt and grief about killing angel and her acceptance of his death i think its a tender and well done capstone to their relationship bc it is a very classic tragedy! but then angel falls oiled up ass naked from the sky and proceeds to be a life suck for the rest of the season
