There is so much you can achieve in those little moments of boredom, but instead you choose to scroll on socials.
What about that language you keep telling yourself youβll learn? Why donβt you practice flashcards on an app while you brush your teeth? Why donβt you read that book youβve been procrastinating for weeks while waiting in a never-ending line? Carry it with you everywhere, the same way you carry your phone.
Waiting for a bus? Why not start writing ideas for that book you tell everyone youβll write one day. Thereβs a delay at your appointment? Perfect opportunity to review your notes for class, plan that event for next month, journal about how you feel, create a summer moodboard, review your goals, brainstorm outfit ideas, clear out your camera roll, outline the project you'll be starting, learn some new vocabulary, curate a new playlist.
Every time you pull out your phone to mindlessly scroll, ask yourself: is there something I could be doing right now that could better my life? Even if that thing is simply taking a few deep breaths and having a moment of meditation to calm your nervous system, rather than flooding it with short-form content.
Actively engage your mind in an activity, or mindfully disengage to meditate. Youβll be surprised at how much these little moments accumulate over time. You will be surprised at the impact they can make on your life.
