Made for protectthosewhocantthemselves and laheywithapurpose's alternate universe roleplay storyline which takes place over two time periods, first being college life and second being ten years later during the zombie war. The plot belongs to them and was written by Allison's mun (me). If interested in being a part of this verse please message Allison's mun on her rp blog.
[Northern Canada, it has now been nearly a decade since VA (Victory in America) day was declared. I walk through a frozen field with two others reading a journal one of them has handed me.]
After graduation from Beacon Hills High School Scott and his friends Scottâs pack  split off for college. They were finally able to put all the supernatural insanity and chaos from those past three years behind them. I can remember being happy about that. None of them asked for this life but they had found some level of peace and clarity. Iâd never really considered going to college until the others went. Some of their relationships evolved like Isaac and Allison, heck they were the first to get married and have kids. Somehow I thought it wouldâve been Scott to do that first. But he and Lydia were far to focused on graduate school for any serious relationships to develop for them. And a few years later Stiles shocked everyone but me with the declaration that he joined the military. It made sense to me. But even with all their changing dynamics I could now honestly understand why Scott was a True Alpha. It was more then merit and virtue. His pack wasnât made up of beta, it was make up of a group of people that had become a family, a unit, and even geography wouldnât truly separate them. He didnât have to try or force his views on them, they followed him because they trusted him and he made them want to be better people.

Ten years down the line and Lydia Martin was working at the CDC. I always knew sheâd do something like that, ever since I realized just how intelligent she really was. The first cases, at least based on what the news was saying had been reported in Asia and W.H.O. had organized a meeting in London. I heard Lydia would be there and I knew Stiles Stilinski had been on base in the United Kingdom last time I checked. I wouldnât put it past him to take a weekend leave and to be waiting for her at the airport. Iâve got to admit, their relationship was strange. Long distance and both busy, him with his tours of duty and her with all her traveling with the CDC. But hey who was I to judge? It works for them and my girlfriend at the time was halfway across the world. I had heard Allison Lahey was on assignment with Naval Intelligence when the first rumors of walking ghouls began to surface in the Middle East and I can remember wondering what Isaac was doing or thinking when those first news reports of the Israeli fence were reported, heâd lost contact with Allison and that was the last location she had contacted him from. Or so I heard. Isaac had come to visit me and Scott in California with his son and just in time too because almost as soon as the flight took off the New York City outbreak had spread past the quarantined area. A few days later Isaac had gotten a call from some United Nations Chairman on an aircraft carrier in the mid-Atlantic and him, his son, and Scott had gotten picked up by a chopper. I opted not to go even if they told them I was Scottâs brother, I had to find my sister.

About a month later I received a communication on the satellite phone they had given me. Apparently they managed to find Lydia and Stiles in the U.K. and get them out. The satellite phone died after that. It was pure luck I had finally managed to get to where I last knew my sister had been. The whole freaking town had been overrun with those corpses and it reminded me of that time Lydia said she felt like the loft was a graveyard. I could remember wondering if she was having constant nightmares and screaming fits or if sheâd somehow managed to control her banshee side. Finally I had found my sister, she was alive but bitten when I found her. But something strange happened, the bite didnât effect her. Thank God, I didnât think I could kill my own sister, not after loosing so much already. I figured it had something to do with our werewolf genes. Maybe there was some immunity to the zombie mutation, maybe it could save people if someone figured out how to make a vaccine. And, that was just what happened or so the radio said a few months later; the Martin-Lycan Vaccine. People didnât even care that werewolves were real, with the vaccine coursing through their veins they wouldnât turn into the walking dead, thatâs all that mattered. Only the war wasnât over yet. There was no way to get the vaccine to everyone and meanwhile the zombie virus was continuing to spread. Three-forthâs of land was overrun with zombies, heck even the oceans had zombies. But at least we now had a fighting chance on taking back our world. Iâm going to stop writing now, Iâm getting tired and Cora went to sleep awhile ago. These winters are pretty brutal and we just donât have anymore resources to keep traveling back down South. At least we are togethâ
[Excerpts from a journal found next to the frozen bodies of what is believed to be two siblings found in Northern Canada. The pen is still in the maleâs hand, the journal at his side having fallen from his grasp, and his other hand holding his sisterâs. Even though I have read the words it is this moment that I fully realize who I am looking at. Cora and Derek Hale and my mind flashes back to the day the chopper arrived and he refused to come with us. I find it strange how at peace the two look before I leave the area unable to stay there any longer. I take the journal with me as it has other messages for my friends and I realize he knew what was coming. As I walk away a half unfrozen zombie rips itâs top half out from the ice about two yards away and I promptly smash itâs skull into a million pieces before Allison stops me. They My friends, like many others, had perished the first winter after the nuclear fallout began to effect the global climate. Five months later my daughter-in-law names her twins after my fallen pack mates.]
