🦇Books of 2026🦇
I’ve read more in the last six months than in the last six years combined so I thought for 2026 id make a little list of what I’m reading/have read
Currently Reading:
Superbloom by Nicholas Carr
I've read some of his essays that he's written and this pretty much follows the same style. He writes about technology and sociology, which i think is very relevant. Perhaps increasingly so.
The Butcher Boy by Patrick McGabe
Francie has some major issues...Poor boy. God I love the way this kid talks. Do you ever start reading a book and as you hear the narrator speak you pause and think to yourself "wow, this character is deeply, deeply troubled"? This books is so sad but also incredibly funny.
Finished:
We have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson
My god. This book had my in a stranglehold from start to finish. I can’t believe it took me until 2026 to read it.
Walden by Henry David Thoreau
I could keep going back to this one and keep finding new things. I actually really enjoyed this.
Regarding The Pain of Others by Susan Sontag
I had never read Sontag before, but stumbled across this in research for a paper I was writing and holy hell. Its just as relevant now as it was 20 years ago.
