Arthur (mid season 4 finally, bloody): "Why am I the mom? What gender rules are we pushing here?"

Yellow (the dreamlands in the background): "I know they're probably thinking that im like the son, but I am NOT. I'll be the gay emo cousin."

John: "I will be the son! THE HOT SHOT! who's only dream... is to be a star" (he just wants to write his books T-T)

The Manager (in the waylay): "I feel like I'd be uhhh fresh out of jail uncle."

Lilith: "And I'm the sassy aunt... who talks shit about everyone"

I have a long list of ships I enjoy and for what reasons, but Arkayne has genuinely been my favourite to explore so far- especially because I've never been as attached to a villain before, simply because i find it hard to latch on to a lot of them

I like looking at my ships on a canon compliant level- how do they feel about each other and how could I break down these feelings to something that works without changing the characters

And i cannot see Arkayne as anything but a one sided obsession.

There can be reasons that, perhaps, Arthur would reciprocate those feelings, but i cannot see that being the case at all.

I think Kayne has put Arthur on such a pedestal for no reason. He's just some man that was forced into the life he has by some gods who needed a way out. He thinks hes this strange anomaly and he needs to figure out what makes this one mortal so so different to all the others- and there isn't anything. It's literally divine intervention. Just changing and redirecting his life to fit this little narrative and change Kayne's focus a little

And I've always thought that this obsession can fall into some fucked up sense of love. Kayne has no idea what this feeling is and likely never will. He's stuck obsessing over this man and wanting everything to do with him and trying to eliminate this feeling by meeting desires and it just never seems to work. He's stuck never knowing and always feeling

And Arthur's hatred in turn doesn't allow Kayne to explore or come to understand this feeling- because Arthur wants nothing to do with the god.

I love considering in what ways Kayne could/would pursue this. It's so fun

Being an outer god means that you can do things that other entities can't. It makes it even better that one of your names is Creature of a Thousand Forms.

You really can be anything you want and we love you for that.

It opens a lot of doors for us fanfic writers who love to push the limits of what organic forms can and can't do.

You bring me insurmountable amounts of joy and I hope that we get to see you again in Threshold.
