i’d say i am vvv chaotic academia and i really want an academic comeback for this year. so this is supposed to facilitate that.

in the future, i’d like to work in STEM, especially chemistry.

comeback time!! thank you to @beestudiess for the motivation to come back to studyblr.

i’ve been letting stuff go to the wayside as i’ve been sick over the thanksgiving break and before that i was doing the fall play. (quite intensive—didn’t have much time for homework, and i got a bit lazy)

my goals for this week are to survive my ap euro test tomorrow, then catch up on my missing work. i really want to get back on track and achieving what i want by winter break! (the middle of the quarter as well)

september 9

i have been sick for three days! i just went back to school today. hence the lack of posting. i’m all better now, and ready to conquer this week.

we did a lab in chemistry!! it was finding out the formula of an unknown copper chloride, and while we made some mistakes, i’m excited for the analysis.

in biology i have to admit, i was quite bored. my teacher gave the same lecture two days in a row, except this time we took notes. i was so close to falling asleep that i ended up taking notes in french (i am nearly fluent!) just to keep myself awake. it was quite mentally stimulating though, and almost helped me absorb the material more.

i have a math test tomorrow—a big one. i’m heading out to tutoring very soon to clarify some things and review, especially because i missed a day. but ive been working very hard and it’s all material we learned last year, so i have high hopes.

other than that, i actually don’t have any homework! i have to organize my lab data a little bit, it’s a bit chaotic, but ive organized my time well with study hall and such.

what i wear to study

so i thought to talk about what i wear while studying!! 📚

a lot of people recommend that you dress in nice clothes to study, but i just don’t find that sustainable as a high school student. if i don’t change out of my clothes from school, i end up feeling kinda gross and uncomfortable—but if i’m changing my clothes into nice clothes AFTER school, that’s a heck of a lot of laundry.

plus, i never found any true benefit in it? it didn’t make me more motivated, just uncomfortable. so i dress comfy for study sessions! keep in mind throughout that i get cold easily.

first, i change from jeans to some loose leggings. tight leggings tend to make me feel suffocated. i keep on my socks from school because i wear thick socks with my boots and they’re nice and warm.

i also toss on a soft t-shirt. usually i layer a sweatshirt on top because again i get cold.

it’s mostly about what makes you feel comfy!! some of my friends get warm super easily so they’ll go a bit lighter, but i live life like i’m in norway so this is just how it is 🫶

wow it’s been a while!! sorry again yall. to be honest, i’ve had a lot of homework and also a bit of stress. but i’m back!! (although mildly sick :( )

now i really want to be honest with yall and not only share the wins, so here’s the truth: i bombed my first ap euro quiz yesterday. not even a “omg i got an 80 percent sob”. i got a 40%. an 8 out of 20. i’m not too proud of myself. most of the class got a bad score, too, but that’s not an excuse—i forgot to study and didn’t read the questions hard enough. i’m saying this so i can learn and grow and still get the grade i want.

other than that, school’s been going great! we covered some of our first content in ap chem and bio.

happy september!! i took a break from studying and thus study blogging for the weekend, since i had some time off for labor day.

we covered graphing sinusoidal functions in precalculus today, and i have never been so glad my teacher last year found the time to cover it a little. it’s definitely a learning curve!!

english was chill, just a grammar pretest (which i did worse on than last year :(( ) and reading. i am loving my sister’s keeper by jodi picoult.

now i’m working on some ap chemistry work!! i have a packet due tomorrow and i’m really on a roll. i’ve been having to reference some older notes but i’m surprised at how much i know.

i’ve also got to read a little for biology!

august 30 - weekend!

didn’t post yesterday, sorry y’all!! it was a day off for labor day weekend and i ended up spending it with my best friend at the beach. it was lovely and i’m glad to have had that break, to ease myself into the new school year.

we also worked on our english project, an identity card with a photo of yourself and little drawings of things about you around it. i got my photo printed and made the drawings, so tonight when i have my friend over i’ll glue it all together!

today, i went out to pickleball and had the best lavender mocha latte ever at a small business (my coffee is pictured above!)

i’ve also been working on my novel. it’s been a nice break so far :) next two days off will probably be used to catch up on my homework, because there’s a lot of it…
