july updates + paracosm plans

changed the discord icon for disability pride month :)

planning on adding a relationship or headspace tracker with a sort of “mind map” layout (or a different layout if anybody has an idea)

gonna add a setting for changing the default page that opens when you open the app (i got told that someone may prefer the alter page opening not the dashboard, easy fix)

still working on the general site layout change… prototyping and prototyping i might post some ideas on my patreon if i get stuff to a point where i like it

Paracosm 1.5.0-1/2 updates

so i released only half of 1.5.0 at first since i had lost the code for the other half… but i found it! fixed up rendering bugs, and its ready to go now. 1.5.0-1 is officially released, and i will release 1.5.0-2 later today. here’s an overview of the changes ive done

i think this is the first time i dont actually have anything planned for the next updates… so send in some suggestions! i would love to add my users suggestions, especially now that i dont actually have ideas for anything to add lol

Paracosm v1.4.0 plans

i havent released 1.3.2 yet, ive just been working on so many things at once that ive decided to make this a full update and not a patch lol

• alter groups/tags

• automatically append pronouns to pluralkit display name

• viewable changelog

• search bar on front modal

• quick sync to pluralkit button

• alter card rework (banner is now visible, moved things around)

• can now nest more than one reply

• multiple bug fixes

i propose changes and ask dev questions in the discord, join to influence the way Paracosm is shaped! i love feedback, and i am always open to suggestions.

Paracosm 1.3.2 plans

main update:

- push pronouns to pluralkit in display name (similar to how octocon worked, if you have an alter name set as “amelia” and the pronouns set as “she/her”, then paracosm will combine them into “amelia (she/her)” and push them to pluralkit)

minor changes:

- post searching which works like discord’s

- new accessibility setting (padding)

- fix reply bug where you can only nest one reply

will probably add more minor changes if they are requested :) but this is what i have planned for now

so , kind of like message board in @paracosm-app so far , but profile / switch feature feel too clunky for needs of kossai .

do not want to have to configure full profile cards for anyone who wish to add to boards , and do not really need switch log - plus , backseat contributions might skew statistics on that . too many people here to want to spend any more time fiddle with full lists of details .

think at most would want to just throw in name , member categories for better navigation , as well as current icon customisation and colour selection . would not want switches to log in any form , because honestly already just make right mess of that interface XD only real complaint about actual message board feature that comments do not nest much , can only handle 1 layer of reply .

anyway , aimlessly think out loud here - no expectation for developer to bend code to completely different structure , right now just wish know enough about code to tinker with private fork . could try right now , but would probably just break into smithereens !

i dont believe its necessary to make an entire profile just for posting messages, that option is just for those who wish to have an entire profile. all posting requires is a name

i understand the switch log may not be necessary for you&. because of this, i may add in a toggle in the settings to log/display switches for those who do not wish to use that feature. it wasnt originally planned, and was only added due to requests, so i can easily make a toggle

i would love to add member categories! honestly i didnt think of that before, i think that would be very useful, and i can also have them import in from other sites, or be created on paracosm itself

the replies not working after one reply is actually a bug, thank you for noticing this, i will put it on my todo list ^^

ive also been planning an entire rework of the layout to make things a little more accessible/intuitive/ergonomic. some things are a little clunky, and im happy to mess around and fix that

feel free to mess around with my code if youd like, its all open source on github for a reason. i really appreciate the feedback! everything helps me make my app better. again, many thanks :3
