The Cottage Garden

Finally, all of the tomato, eggplant, and pepper pots have sprouts! Ill get better shots of them tommorow.

The kale has slowed down, and its very, very stringy. The zucchini is uncontrollable, easily double the size of the cukes and they are half a dozen times larger in mass than the kale and cabbage! Im hoping that some careful weathering in a few weeks in the sunroom with all the windows open will toughen them up enough to go outside... we will see!

Well, I decided to place three new seeds over the originals for the peppers, eggplants and tomato. Here is hoping they come up soon, these were the ones I needed up and about earliest!

The soil around my home is beginning to warm! Won't be long before the sprouts go in the ground.

You can see that those who’ve sprouted are growing stringy, but with the frost still on and low powered indoor ;lights, that cant be helped. Some investigation of the plants not yet sprouted has revealed that I have buried them too deep, probably. I’ve lifted the herb seed disks as best as I could with a pencil. The tomatoes and peppers are in a similar situation, and I fear I should replant them. If I see no growth by the end of the weekend, I will replant.

Cabbage has really emerged today! and the cabbage has added about a half inch. The zucchini has started to unfurl in the top right, but no little leaves yet. The tomatos, peppers, and eggplant have yet to show themselves :(

Looks like the arugula are the first herbs to sprout! These leafy greens seem to get going quickly.

And after a watering the Zucchinilings decided to say hi!

These kale sprouts were the first to raise their heads, the little April fools!
